Review-

The fourth installment of the 'Ciel Halligan' series was adorably written and entertaining from the first page, until the very last. Would I call it a favorite of all the books? Eh, probably not. We'll get more onto that later. If you're reading this review, I suggest starting from the very beginning with IN A FIX(http://bit.ly/1Xux82g). It gives you time to know and eventually fall in love with the characters. 

I believe the dialogue and the character chemistry is what truly makes these books so amazing. We have Ciel, our heroine, who is as funny as they come. Everyone always feels the need to take care of her even when she doesn't need it. Of course, she does get herself into some awkward situations; so it's easy to see why everyone treats her like a damsel in distress. 

Ciel is what you would call a chameleon - an adaptor. She's able to change her appearance of anybody in the world she comes in contact with. It's a pretty cool power to have, in my opinion. So in 'All Fixed Up' Ciel has taken over the appearance of a well respected astronaut in announcing spectacular news for the space program. 

Sounds awesome, right? It is but one tiny little problem... Someone "knows" what Ciel is or isn't. Which understandably is suspicious and scary. Nobody outside of family and the chosen few, know what Ciel is. You can imagine her surprise when she realizes that a certain man may know more than what's he's supposed to. 

Then adaptors are being murdered and Ciel is the main target. 

Billy Doyle, Ciel's best friend turned boyfriend is a favorite of mine. But I lost a bit of respect for him in this book. In fact, I think I also lost some respect for Ciel as well. I won't give anything away but everything that happened in this book involving these two, along with Mark, disappointed me greatly. And then there's no consequences whatsoever. 

If you have to ask, yes there's a love triangle. Kind of. Ciel has loved Mark since forever but he never showed any interest in her until she started dating Billy. All I know is that I'm just as confused with Ciel as I am with the situation. There doesn't need to be a damn love triangle! It causes unnecessary drama. 

Yes, I'm #TeamDoyle all the way. Have been since he was introduced. I like Mark but I don't think he's a good choice for Ciel. Just my opinion. 

Aside from that, I loved the book and can't wait for the next one in the series!!

Review:

Michelle Madow has been an author that I've followed since her first book, Remembrance. Her writing has always been one that I know will give me the escape I so desire for. The first book in the Elementals series certainly wasn't my favorite but I still liked it. Sure, there were some things that truly bugged the living crap outta me. Cliches, anyone? Anyways, for the most part I was interested and entertained. That's really what it's all about. 

Nicole, our protagonist, is in for a huge surprise when she and her family move from Georgia to Salem. New state. New school. New classes. All this means somethings up. This is when it starts getting kind of predictable a cliché. Nicole finds out that she's not human, the boy she likes has a girlfriend, who just so happens to be a bitch, and of course Nicole, can pretty much do no wrong. I like for there to be character growth and slow burn when it comes to romance. 

I'm not one for insta-love and I feel like we got that with this story. But, it's okay because I think the book shows lots of promise and the only way to go is up from here. I truly think readers will flock to this story and fall in love. Some readers, like me, can be overly picky at times. Alas, I do look forward to reading the second book to see where Nicole and gang end up. I can definitely learn to love them.

Review:
The Charley Davidson books are funny, sarcastic, sexy, and mysterious all rolled up into one. When I first started the series, I thought I would be getting a light-hearted paranormal romance book. The first book took my by surprise with how laugh out loud funny it was and I took an instant infatuation with Charley. Even though I love the books and we gone in it, I wouldn't have said the books were my favorite. There were times that I felt it was repetitive and at times a bit boring.

Well, I retract everything I said because after reading Eighth Grave After Dark, I realize that I haven't been giving Charley and gang enough credit. How could these books not be my fave? It has a kick-ass heroine who doesn't take things too seriously, which is partly why I love her; a sexy ass man by the name of Reyes; the most wonderful sidekick/best friend any girl could ask for, Cookie; and a supporting cast of characters who mean just as much to me as Charley.

This story starts off where the eighth ended...Charley has ended up on New York and now has amnesia. She goes by Janey Doerr and works at a diner. Basically the whole book our beloved Charley spends clueless as to everything. Including her family and friends, who ate with her every step of the way but never push her to try and remember who she is. Charley needs to be able to come to all on her own.

When she wakes up in an alley in New York with no clue as to who she is, she starts noticing things. Things such being able to see dead people. Of course as readers we already know she's the grim reaper and a God. But she doesn't, and I loved being able to be there every step of the way as 'Janey' starting slowly realizing that not everything was what it seemed. The interaction between her and Reyes (and everyone else) was heartbreaking. It was still the same ole' Charley but at the same time it was a complete stranger.

As with the other books, there's a small mystery that Charley feels she has to help solve. But she doesn't know how. Why would she feel compelled to investigate something that doesn't even pertain to her, right? With the help of Ubie and a departed teenage gangbanger, Charley will do what she does best. Even if she doesn't know that she's good at it.

Overall, I think this is the first time in this series that I have felt so emotionally connected to the story. I really feel like these guys are family now. I think the author did beautifully in developing such a beautiful and complex storyline. With the way the book ended, well let's just say I'm just a little bit anxious to get my hands on the next book. And to Darynda Jones and whoever else is listening; please, please, please write a series surrounded by Osh!! And make sure Garrett has a lot of face time in that series too!

Oh, and maybe write a series surrounding Quentin and Amber as well! Alright, that's all the demands I have...for now.

For reasons known only to the Big Guy upstairs, NYTimes and USA Today Best Selling author Darynda Jones won both a Golden Heart and a RITA for her manuscript FIRST GRAVE ON THE RIGHT. But even before that, she couldn’t remember a time she wasn’t putting pen to paper. When she was five, she would pick up a pencil and notepad, scribble utter chaos onto the page and ask her mom to read her masterpiece aloud. Thankfully, her mother would play along.  Later she wrote plays for the neighborhood kids, made up stories for her brother as he played cars, and fell in love with Captain Kirk. Those raging, seven-year-old hormones only fueled her imagination, prompting her to create fantastical stories for Barbie and Ken to enact. Ken was such a bad boy back then.

After years of being repeatedly sent to the principal’s office for daydreaming in class, she managed to make it to high school where she almost finished her first manuscript. Sitting with her BFF in a corner booth at the local Tastee Freeze for hours at a time, she wrote a post-apocalyptic story about a group of teens who bore a remarkable resemblance to the members of Van Halen and were trying to escape the tunnels of a huge government fallout facility decades after World War III had destroyed the surface of the earth. Life was good. Writing was good. Then she graduated and the real world came crashing through. She forced the dream aside in favor of sustenance and shelter, got married to a local rock star, and had at least two kids that she can think of, the oldest of whom was born Deaf, probably to spite her. When he was five, she packed up her boys and moved to Albuquerque to put him in a Deaf and Hard-of-Hearing program. The rock star stayed behind with the business, and they took turns going back and forth on the weekends to see each other for seven really long years.

While in Albuquerque, Darynda decided to see the cup half full and go back to college while she still had enough brain cells to make it worth her while. Review:
The Big Fix. What can I say other than this series has quickly jumped up to my top five favorite series. And that's saying something considering I have a bunch of favorites! Getting back in to Ciel's world, I know there will never be a dull moment. From the very first word until the very last, it's non stop action, swoony moments, and hilarious wit from loveable characters. And I do mean ALL the characters. I have grown to love each and every one of them. The story honestly wouldn't be the same without them all. Ciel and gang sure know how to keep a girl entertained.

The story opens up with Ciel taking on a job for a high profile actor, Jackson, who has a phobia of snakes. The day that Ciel takes over the scene with snakes as Jackson, word comes to Ciel aka Jackson that his wife has been murdered. The number one suspect? The wife, Angelica, owns sister, Lilly Ann. Sounds like a dysfunctional family to me! Well this is right up Ciel's alley as they try to catch the murderer. But problems arise and what in the heck kind of story would it be if we knew right off the bat who the killer is. Who is the true killer? Could it be Lily Ann? Jackson himself? Someone else entirely? Come follow The whole gang as they race to uncover the truth.

Sometimes the truth hurts.

I bet you're wondering about the romance part of the story involving Billy, Ciel, and Ciel's undying infatuation with Mark. I won't give anything away but this part of the book actually pissed me off which is the sole reason it's four stars instead of five. I had to ask myself, did th author really go there? Something happened that I didn't agree with and had it been the other way around, I don't think Ciel would have been as forgiving. To me it's a double standard. But alas, still loved the lovey dovey scenes. And yeah, I'm #TeamBilly all the way.

Overall, I'm truly, truly in love with these books. My life is totally invested in the lives of these fictional characters. When they hurt, I hurt, when they cry, I cry, and so on. You get the picture. If there's any book that I will ever fully recommend with love, it's these books. Trust me, they are so good! Plus the humor keeps it from being too dark or serious. I hope you as a reader will check these books out. Even if Urban Fantasy isn't your thing, I still suggest trying it out. I highly doubt you'll regret it!!

Review-

I have no idea what I just read. Nightwise, from the outside looking in, looked just like the perfect urban fantasy read for me. But I quickly realized that it wasn't exactly my cup of tea. I had a hard time connecting with the main character, Laytham Ballard. The world was also one I had a hard time picturing and getting into. I do know that the world the author did create was both dark and full of monsters. He included himself in that batch of monsters...

The book by no means is bad. I think for me, I'm not completely the target audience and for that I'm sorry. I should have tried to research the book a bit more but after reading the synopsis, it intrigued me. Laytham is paying off a debt to his dying friend to help seek vengeance over the friend's wife. The man in question is said to be part of the Illuminati, meaning it's going to be hella crazy trying to catch him. There's tons of action as Ballard races to find answers. 

Sounds good, right? I feel like beating myself over the head with a hammer because how could I not like this more than I did? I love books about antiheros; and Laytham is most certainly an antihero. If
you're looking for any type of romance, this is not your book. I repeat this is not for you! This is pure
urban fantasy with a whole lot of thriller aspects. Actually, the whole book could be one big thriller. Another reason to wonder why I couldn't connect. Overall, even though it wasn't my type of book, I would recommend this to readers that have an itch for thrilling story told by a brilliant author.

Clamp brings us shifters, secrets, mind control, and romance as we race to catch an unknown predator. Claire Sanchez goes undercover to rural Washington to help uncover what's going on Luna Lake and why kids keep turning up missing. What she discovers is far more sinister than she could ever imagine. Then she finds out first hand how sinister it is when she gets into a crash on her way into town by an unseen thing. With her life on the line, she gets saved by a beautiful man that makes her feel all tingly. The strong attraction is mutual. But life in town is so different than what's she used to. 

Claire has to face a new set of rules that test her beyond her limits. The town's mayor and chief of police are the alphas who aren't above running the place on fear. It seems to be the chief's go to activity; wrecking havoc and being a downright nasty bastard. But with the help of the insanely
attractive Alek; hopefully Claire can get to the bottom of the mystery and help find out the mystery
before it's too late. Will she be able to figure out what and who to stop before they stop her?

This is my first time reading a book by Cathy Clamp but I'm told that there's a series before this one that's in the same world; written by the duo team Cat Adams and Clamp herself. I don't think I had to have read those books to know what I'm reading here. Though I do want to read them as well starting with Hunter's Moon. I find that I really love the writing, so much so that the plot kept me reading through one whole sitting. It was a deep hatred for the chief,Lenny, as soon as I first met him in the beginning of the book. That guy needed a reality check stat. Claire was as bad ass as they come. I look forward to reading more books with her and gang. She's spunky, independent and she totally reminded me of Kate Daniels. 

Alek, the hero of the story and fellow wolf, was a great character to get to read about. He was honorable, sexy, and poor guy, as soon as he laid eyes on Claire, he was a goner. Much like Claire, he grew up as an orphan then ended up living in Luna Lake with a foster family. Alek is the go to guy in town, the golden boy. There's isn't anything he can't do. The attraction he feels for the new girl in town is nothing like he's ever felt before. It's like a deep need, all fiery passion and lust that could turn anyone crazy. 

Overall, I think this was very interesting and highly recommend to urban fantasy fans. I enjoyed how action-packed and mysterious everything was. I just had to know everything that was going to happen. Which was why I finished it in one sitting. I needed to know what was going on. I needed to know how it would get fixed. And I needed to know if the two main characters ended up together. Because sue me, I'm still a romantic at heart! All in all, make sure you don't skip out on Forbidden because it was one hell of a sexy ride!
