Trade Paperback: $13.99 USD

When you can't trust yourself, how can you ask anyone else to?

It's been months since Aden Colt left the Army, and still the memories haunt him. When he moved into a tiny boat off the California coast, he thought he'd found the perfect place to escape life. Then Sawyer shows up and turns his simple life upside down. Beautiful and sophisticated, she seems out of place in this laid-back beach town. Something is pushing her to experience everything she can—including Aden. But as much as he wants her, starting a relationship with Sawyer puts them both at risk. For Aden, the past doesn't stay there; it shows up unexpectedly, uncontrollably, and doesn't care whose life it wrecks.

Review:
This is my first book by J.B. Salsbury. I thought it was good but still felt like that certain spark that I look for, that was missing. Don't get me wrong, the story was still able to keep my interest and it had such beautiful moments throughout. I just was expecting something a little different.

Sawyer is quiet and loves a very controlled like life. In order for her to learn to live a little, her dying sister, Celia, requests that Sawyer become her. It will help her to open up and take chances that she ordinarily wouldn't. What's the worst that could happen?

Aden is struggling to overcome his own battles. Let me just say, I really did enjoy reading about his character. It was complex and beautiful, with a hint of vulnerability that made me want to reach out and hold him. Watching Aden and Sawyer fall in love was great. They both have demons they're fighting but against all odds, they fight it. I don't know about you but if you're looking for a story like this one, read it.

Release Blitz:
Beautiful Mistake by Vi Keeland!!

Title: Beautiful Mistake
Author: Vi Keeland
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Release Date: July 16, 2017

Synopsis:

The first time I met Caine West was in a bar.
He noticed me looking his way and mistakenly read my scowling as checking him out.
When he attempted to talk to me, I set him straight—telling him what I thought of his lying, cheating, egomaniacal ass.
You see, the gorgeous jerk had wined and dined my best friend--smooth talking her into his bed, all along failing to mention that he was married.
He deserved every bit of my tongue-lashing and more for what he'd done.
Especially when that lazy smile graced his perfect face in response to my rant.
Only it turned out, the man I'd just told off wasn't the right guy.

Oops. My mistake.

Embarrassed, I slunk out without an apology.
I was never going to see the handsome stranger again anyway, right?
That’s what I thought…until I walked into class the next morning.
Well, hello Professor West, I’m your new teaching assistant.
I’ll be working under you…figuratively speaking.
Although the literal interpretation might not be such a bad thing—working under Professor West.

This was going to be interesting…

Book Blitz Review - The Perfect Recipe For Love and Friendship(O'Bannon Sisters #1) by Shirley Jump

ABOUT THE BOOK

Title: THE PERFECT RECIPE FOR LOVE AND FRIENDSHIP
Author: Shirley Jump
Series: O’Bannon Sisters, #1
On Sale: July 11, 2017
Publisher: Forever
Trade Paperback: $14.99 USD
eBook$6.99 USD
The first book in New York Times and USA Today bestselling author Shirley Jump's new series featuring the O'Bannon sisters.

Bridget O'Bannon is ready for a do-over. After years of pretending she had a happy marriage and denying that she missed the friends and family she'd left behind, she's headed home to restart her life.

But working alongside her family every day at their bakery isn't as easy as whipping up her favorite chocolate peanut butter cake. Her mother won't give her a moment's peace, and her sister Abby is keeping secrets of her own. And there doesn't seem to be enough frosting in the world to smooth over the cracks forming between them.

Bridget can see the recipe for a happy life—including the possibility of a new romancewritten out before her, but first she and her family will need to lay bare their secrets and rediscover the most elusive ingredients of all: forgiveness, laughter, and love.

Review:
There are times when I start a book and think "wow, this is so damn depressing, I don't think I can continue".  Seriously, that's how I felt. Here's a young woman whose husband gets in a fatal car accident, leaving her truly alone. When she married Jim, she stopped talking to her sisters and became estranged from them because all she needed was her husband. We come to find out that maybe he wasn't such a great guy and he had some secrets buried deep. Maybe not that deep, just deep enough for Bridget not to see. I kept reading though. And the more I read, the more I fell in love with the characters. They are broken but at least they have each other.

The secret surrounding Abby was one I was very interested in learning. I had suspicions but none of them came close to being what I thought. Bridget and Abby's relationship is never the same that day, which also happens to be the day that Bridget marries Jim. A man who has secrets that I was dying to find out about. When you're in love, at times you tend to be blind. Especially to those that you just can't ever see in a bad light.

The relationship between the sisters was a hit rocky at first but as the story went on, the ice started to melt more. I don't like stories much where the siblings hate each other. And while the siblings in this book don't hate each other, they sort of lost a bit of something. That something being each other. Overall, I thought was a nice, heartfelt book about forgiveness. That's what I took from the story. It was beautiful, real, and at times bittersweet. I look forward to the next book.

A Prep School Girl with a Hollywood Dream

Becca Harrington is a reject. After being rebuffed by every college on her list, she needs a fresh start, so she packs up everything and moves to LA, giving herself one year to land an acting gig or kill herself trying.

Unfortunately, not everything turns out as planned, and after a few grueling months, LA is looking like the worst idea ever. As hard as she tries, Becca can’t land an agent, she's running out of cash, and her mom is hounding her to apply to more schools. In an act of desperation, Becca and her friend Marisol start posting short videos online—with the help of their adorable filmmaker neighbor, Raj—and the videos catch the attention of a TV producer. Could this be it? Her big break? Or will she have to move back home with nothing but some bad head shots and a monstrous credit-card bill?

Becca may not get the Hollywood ending she was hoping for, but perhaps she’ll learn there’s more than one way to achieve her dream.

Readers will love every page of this funny, romantic, aspirational, and ultimately triumphant novel about a girl who just wants to make it on her own.

Review-

That was cute. Becca is such a fresh nee voice and i was sad to see her go. The story starts off with Becca being dropped off in LA by her boyfriend, Alex. Seemingly out of nowhere, Alex breaks up with her, leaving Becca distraught and a tad bit confused. This isn't at all what the story is about though. It's about Becca's journey to not only becoming an actress but finding herself as well.

What I truly loved was the independence Becca showed. She's able to rent an apartment and finds a job so she's able to live like the rest of us. I've heard becoming a household name is very hard and only a small percentage actually ever makes it to the big leagues. I'm not very familiar with the entertainment industry, other than being entertained, but I can imagine that this was a somewhat realistic look on how hard it is for struggling actors and actresses to find work.

Along the way, Becca meets Marisol and Raj. Marisol is a fellow actress, while Raj is a screenwriter/director. I liked them immediately; although, I did think Raj was a bit too square for my tastes. Honestly, I wouldn't mind another book with Becca's point of view. I'd love to see where her acting has taken her and if she hit it big. But I guess that's why we have imaginations. Who knows? Maybe she ended up getting her own show and now she's as famous as can be!

Review - HELLO, SUNSHINE by Laura Dave

Publisher: Simon Shuster
Pub.Date: July 11, 2017
Genre: Women's Fiction
Source: Print ARC
Rating: 3.5 Stars

Blurb:
From Laura Dave—the author of the “addictive” (Us Weekly), “winning” (Publishers Weekly) and critically acclaimed bestseller Eight Hundred Grapes—comes a new novel about the secrets we keep…even from ourselves.

Sunshine Mackenzie has it all…until her secrets come to light.

Sunshine Mackenzie is living the dream—she’s a culinary star with millions of fans, a line of #1 bestselling cookbooks, and a devoted husband happy to support her every endeavor.

And then she gets hacked.

When Sunshine’s secrets are revealed, her fall from grace is catastrophic. She loses the husband, her show, the fans, and her apartment. She’s forced to return to the childhood home—and the estranged sister—she’s tried hard to forget. But what Sunshine does amid the ashes of her own destruction may well save her life.

In a world where celebrity is a careful construct, Hello, Sunshine is a compelling, funny, and evocative novel about what it means to live an authentic life in an inauthentic age.

Review:
Hello, Sunshine is a novel that speaks of our society today and how it shapes us. When we go into Facebook, Instagram, Snapchat, etc. we are showing a side of ourselves that may not be the whole truth. We aren't lying, per se, but in a world where filters rule, can anybody claim that everything they post on social media is the truth. That's kind of what this story is about. Sunshine is a huge YouTube sensation with all types of endorsement deals, book deals, and in talks to be on a Food Network tv show. Everything sounds perfect...but she's lying.

When you lie, sooner or later the truth will come out. And that's exactly what happened with Sunshine. She lost her tv show, the endorsements, and her husband. She's forced to leave everything behind; her apartment, the money, and her wounded pride. I'm the first few pages of the book, we are told that Sunshine is not a good person. I saw a woman who lost herself due to the fame and fortune of becoming a hit YouTuber. I want to say I pitied her, but I didn't.

The story is not about romance or finding revenge on the hacker who let out all of Sunshine's secrets; it's about finding yourself and not letting a blip on the radar (no matter how big) keep you down. I was able to finish the book in one sitting. It was highly entertaining and I just had to find out who the hacker was. And when I found out, I can honestly say I wasn't at all surprised! Here's to reading more amazing books by Ms. Dave.

Release Day Blitz Review - Trainwreck by T. Gephart

Title: Train Wreck
Author: T. Gephart
Genre: Romantic Comedy
Release Date: July 10, 2017

Blurb

“No passion, no emotion, no originality—a train wreck of epic portions.”

Those were the words to describe Eve Thorton’s exhibition. Not even a fine arts degree from Yale or her daddy’s bank account could save her from the scathing reviews. And failure was a word Eve would never be comfortable with. Not even close.

Plotting the demise of every critic who’d written her off was her first instinct. But that would come later. Instead, she would show them that she wasn’t a bored socialite with more money than talent.

She would prove everyone wrong, and she wasn’t afraid to get her hands dirty. But when her journey for redemption crashed headfirst into Josh Logan, the sexy, talented tattooist from Queens, getting her hands dirty took on a whole new meaning.

Josh was everything Eve wasn’t, translating on skin what she couldn’t onto her canvas. All she had to do was convince him to share his jaw-dropping brilliance, and help her—seeing him naked—a bonus. Then she could go back to her regular life, vindicated.

It should have been easy. Pity her plans had a habit of derailing.

Review-

"That my first ever solo art exhibition had been called a train wreck and me—its creator—a soulless socialite with zero talent and even less skill."

This is my very first book by T. Gephart. Why on gods green earth have I not read any of her other books sooner?! Why???? Train Wreck was sexy, witty, romantic, and I bet her other books are just as good. Our main character, Eve, was such a fun chick to read about and I couldn't help but enjoy the lovely banter between her and Mr. Sex-On-Legs. I mean, Josh. I knew I'd love the guy because he's a sexy tattoo artist...enough said. Have I ever mentioned I love a man with ink? Mmmm.

“Hey, Eve.” Josh’s hot as fuck hand—seriously, I had a problem—ran through his hot as fuck hair.
“Want to sit . . .” On your face? Sure “ . . . in on the next client? You’ve been stuck at your desk all day.”

You would think that walking in on your boyfriend getting his lollipop licked would be a high up on one of the worst moments of your life. Nope, think again. Eve is an artist and the exhibition she has showcasing her work is, well, beyond terrible. There's no passion or emotion in her art and the reviews are anything but warm and friendly. Eve needs help fast. Which is how she ends up in Josh's tattoo shop doing anything she can to learn from a fellow artist on how he is able to evoke so much beauty and passion into his tattoo drawing.

What Eve wasn't expecting was a gorgeous man that could melt the panties off of a nun. Yes ladies, he's that hot. I for one, loved him straight away. It was nice watching Josh fight his feelings for the beautifully stunning, Eve. I'll admit that very early on in the book I was already asking for the loving. And by loving... well you know what I mean! And if you don't, then you're probably too young to read the book anyways. Anyways, the story gets a good amount of loving. Yes!

"You’re not here to learn every hard plane of his body, Eve. You’re here to learn from him."

Romance novels are my life. I can't go a day without reading them. Train Wreck was no exception. It had everything I love and want in a good romance story. I know readers will fall hopelessly in love such as me. If you need something lighthearted with little angst (and sexy times!) this will be perfect for you!

Author Bio

T Gephart is an indie author from Melbourne, Australia.

T's approach to life has been somewhat unconventional. Rather than going to University, she jumped on a plane to Los Angeles, USA in search of adventure. While this first trip left her somewhat underwhelmed and largely depleted of funds it fueled her appetite for travel and life experience.

With a rather eclectic resume, which reads more like the fiction she writes than an actual employment history, T struggled to find her niche in the world.

While on a subsequent trip the United States in 1999, T met and married her husband. Their whirlwind courtship and interesting impromptu convenience store wedding set the tone for their life together, which is anything but ordinary. They have lived in Louisiana, Guam and Australia and have traveled extensively throughout the US. T has two beautiful young children and one four legged child, Woodley, the wonder dog.

An avid reader, T became increasingly frustrated by the lack of strong female characters in the books she was reading. She wanted to read about a woman she could identify with, someone strong, independent and confident and who didn't lack femininity. Out of this need, she decided to pen her first book, A Twist of Fate. T set herself the challenge to write something that was interesting, compelling and yet easy enough to read that was still enjoyable. Pulling from her own past "colorful" experiences and the amazing personalities she has surrounded herself with, she had no shortage of inspiration. With a strong slant on erotic fiction, her core characters are empowered women who don't have to sacrifice their femininity. She enjoyed the process so much that when it was over she couldn't let it go.

T loves to travel, laugh and surround herself with colorful characters. This inevitably spills into her writing and makes for an interesting journey - she is well and truly enjoying the ride!

Based on her life experiences, T has plenty of material for her books and has a wealth of ideas to keep you all enthralled.
