Blog Tour Giveaway:Rivulet by Jamie Magee

Rivulet by Jamie Magee
Expected publication: October 7, 2013

Unfathomable forces have always contested Genevieve Indiana Falcon, known as Indie. The curse of her cold touch entraps her just as the grief ignited in her past torments her. Yet, her mysterious ability to dream while awake saturates her in the belief that she was not always anguished. There is hope that one day a true peace in her soul can be found.

Foolishly, Indie assumes she has contained her life in an odd balance, and she cherishes the visions she sees of the enigmatic boy that held her in a lost time, but can never reach. She grieves for a life she fears she'll never possess, and that grief is a weapon she uses against her aunt who stands between her and her inheritance.

Weeks away from her twenty-first birthday, the date where she would assume control over her family legacy, a night terror robs Indie of the balance she was clinging to. Like the dream she had before she lost her family, it predicts a fatal catastrophe on the horizon. The fight between life and death, good and evil, began the moment her thundering heart awoke her.

Everything changed after that dream. The one thing that keeps her curse at bay is stolen, and then the enigmatic boy arrives in the flesh. Face to face with her fiery born-again lover Indie realizes that the only way she can prevent the tragedy before her is to surrender everything she was, is, and could be.

Can she bend the laws of nature and fight the improbability that fire and ice could ever be one? As far as Indie is concerned, there is not a myth, spoken fate, or curse that is stronger than her stubborn desire to have it all ... including him.

About Jamie

Jamie Magee has always believed that each of us have a defining gift that sets us apart from the rest of the world, she has always envied those who have known from their first breath what their gift was. Not knowing hers, she began a career in the fast paced world of business. Raising a young family, and competing to rise higher in that field would drive some to the point of insanity, but she always found a moment of escape in a passing daydream. Her imagination would take her to places she’d never been, introduce her to people she’s never known. Insight, her debuting novel, is a result of that powerful imagination. Today, she is grateful that not knowing what defined her, led her on a path of discovery that would always be a part of her.

Blog Tour Review&Giveaway: When It Rains by Lisa De Jong

Title: When it Rains
Author: Lisa De Jong
Release Date: Sep 25, 2013
Genre: Contemporary Romance

Blurb:

One night changed my life forever.

Beau Bennett has been my best friend since I can remember. He was my first crush before everything came crashing down, and now he wants more, but it's more than I can give him. Things are different now. I wish I could tell him why, but I can't.

I haven’t told anyone.

I never knew how much I really needed him until the day he left for college, and I was completely alone.

Then one day, Asher Hunt rides into town with his dark, captivating eyes and cocky grin. He doesn't care who I used to be, he's simply breathing life into what’s left. People warn me to stay away from him, but he helps me forget the pain that has held me hostage for so long; something I thought was impossible before he walked into my life.

I’ve been hurt.

I’ve been saved.

And I’ve found hope.

I thought my story was written that night, but now I know it was only a new beginning. Until one secret turns my world upside down…

Again.

Review:
OMG. OMG. OMG. OMG. OMG. OMG. OMG. OMG. OMG. OMG. OMG. OMG. OMG. OMG. OMG. OMG. OMG. OMG. OMG. OMG. OMG. OMG. OMG. OMG.

“One night, one moment, one decision can change the whole path that our future takes.”

So now that I have your attention, let me tell you a little story about this wonderful book I read called, When it Rains. It’s everything I could want and more. We have Kate, our beautifully broken heroine, who has been hurt beyond repair. She is so broken that she’s pushed everyone away and kept her best friend, Beau, at arms length. One night changed everything and in Kate’s eyes, there is no hope and no one there to save her. Or so she thought.

“You’re strength is inspiring.”

But before I get into some of the good stuff, let me share with you how much love I have for this beautiful story filled with beautiful characters. I love, yes LOVE, When it Rains. I cried. I laughed. I swooned. I fell hard and I didn’t even see it comingI finished the book days ago and yet, I still can’t get it out of my head. I recently told Lisa that I feel as if I have a big hole in my chest where my heart used to be. In fact, it’s a HUGE chunk missing. I don’t plan on getting that piece back because it has been left with the characters and words of this book. I’m getting all teary eyed just thinking about it.

“Are you going to miss me?” I asked. I instantly regret the words as soon as they slip out of my mouth.
“Yes, Kate, I’m going to miss you. I’m so damn in love with you, I can barely stand to spend a few hours apart from you, and now we’re going to be miles and hours apart. It sucks. It really fucking sucks,” he says.

Poor Beau. He’s going off to college five hours away from home. I felt bad for him for various reasons but the main one was how much Kate pushed him away. A person can only be patient for so long until they break. And while Beau got mad and didn’t talk to her for a few days, he always came back. To me that shows just how loyal and good hearted he is. I instantly adored him.

“My fact for the day: I wanted to come over here as soon as you drove away yesterday. I want to know you. I want to know what it is that made you cry, but more than that; I want to know what I have to do to make you happy again.”Asher

Cocky, gorgeous, and full of life. That is what I will use to describe Asher. He came into Kate’s life like a hurricane and demanded to be let in. He didn’t take no for an answer and for some reason, Kate let him. He helps her face her fears and in the end, ends up saving her from herself.

“I want to kiss you whenever I want. I want to hold you. I want you to tell me all of your secrets and eventually tell you all of mine.” -Asher

Yes I sure did swoon at that part. I have no shame! I like how the story shows the possibility of falling in love with two people. Most everyone is lucky if they find one love in this lifetime, but two? It’s a fantastic idea and I can see where something like that could happen.

“When it rains, Kate, remember me.”

Oh god, I am crying again! This is not a light read at all. It deals with a very heavy subject matter. You want to cry? Buy this book. You want to fall in love with two boys? (And you will) Buy this book. You want to watch a broken girl grow into a strong woman? Buy this book.

A thank you and shout out goes to Angie of Angie’s Dreamy Reads for setting up this amazing tour.
And last but not least a huge thank you goes out to Lisa for giving me the opportunity to read such an enchanting book. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. I love you for writing a book worth reading<3

Her Accidental Boyfriend by Robin Bielman--Release Day Launch, Giveaway and Review

Her Accidental Boyfriend by Robin Bielman

About the book:

Faking it with this flirt never felt so real...

Kagan Owens has a secret. One she thought she'd escaped by leaving New York, but when her past follows her to her temporary new life, Kagan lets a teeny lie slip. And now the town's biggest playboy and flirt, Shane Sullivan, has become her pretend boyfriend--just until she's ready to return to NYC. But the handsome, fun-loving Shane makes it tough to determine where their friendly agreement begins and ends...

Shane has no intention of settling down--in fact, his job depends on it, and nothing's more important than his work. Still, he can't help but agree to Kagan's scheme, if only to find out more about the mysterious beauty. But when every touch from her sets his heart and body on fire, he realizes playing an accidental boyfriend may be more than he bargained for--and more than he can give.

Review:
Kagan has ran away from her life in New York to pursue her own dreams. Working for her father has been suffocating and it doesn't help any that her father has set up an arranged marriage with a man she doesn't love. While on her journey she meets the sexy Shane Sullivan, who she just so happens to pretend he is her boyfriend so that her current "fiancé" will leave her alone.

Her Accidental Boyfriend is everything I look for in a romance. A swoon worthy guy, a lovely heroine to be jealous of, and lots and lots of romance.

Shane is the type of man every girl can see her with. Hell, what kinda girl doesn't want a rich beautiful man?! Sure that does sound real conceited but can you blame me? When you read about Shane, you'll see what I am talking about.

Kagan was a wonderful heroine. She was strong, beautiful, and real. I instantly liked her and could see why she did what she did when she ran away from New York.

If you are looking for a sweet and heartfelt romance, this is for you. All romance lovers need to pick this up!!

Review: Torn by K.A. Robinson

Chloe hasn't had the best life. With a mother who is gone more often than not, she has had to raise herself. After graduating high school, she leaves to start a new life away at West Virginia University with her best friends Amber and Logan, determined to leave her demons in the past.

On her first day, she meets a stranger who takes her breath away at first sight. Until she met Drake, no one had ever sparked her interest. Now this tattooed and pierced bad boy is all she can think about, no matter how hard she fights it.

Falling for Drake was never part of her plans, but when it happens, things seem to do anything but fall into place.

Long hidden feelings are revealed and friendships tested to the brink.

Excerpt:
---------------------------------------------------------------

He laughed at my pitiful attempts. “Is that all you’ve got? What a wimp.” At his words, I started pushing him harder, but my hands slipped from his hip and I tumbled down onto him. My breath was sucked out of me as I landed on top of him and I felt those tingles everywhere my body pressed against his. I tried to shove away from him, but he grabbed my arms and pulled me up so I was fully on top of him, chest to chest, stomach to stomach, hips to hips. He was hard everywhere I touched and I felt my cheeks turning red as I looked at him.

His eyes had darkened until they were black with hunger as he stared at me, and a smirk appeared on his lips. “You know baby, if you wanted to get on top of me all you had to do was ask.”

Review:
3.5 Stars

Torn is a book about a girl who is literally torn between two boys. This is a love triangle and if you don't enjoy them, then I suggest you stop reading my review!

Chloe is just starting her first year of college with her best friends when she meets Drake, sexy, tattooed, and pierced bad boy.  From the moment she met him, there was a connection that went beyond lust.

But there is another boy in the picture. Her best friend, Logan, who also just so happens to be in love with Chloe. It's obvious to everyone but her.

I enjoyed Torn immensely. So, why the 3.5 stars? I didn't enjoy the love triangle. There was no question about who she should be torn between. I feel like she led Logan on and honestly I never felt any spark between them. Even as best friends, they were just bland as a couple. Boring even. There was no depth to Logan and Chloe's relationship, I feel like she was just with him out of convenience. Which in my opinion is far worse than just flat out rejecting him.

There was no point in being torn between two men!

Now Drake on the other hand. There was so much chemistry and sexual tension. It oozed sexual tension. I loved Chloe and Drake. If only the book had just been centered around them, I would have liked the book better.

All in all Torn was filled with angst and I love angst. I look forward to the second book in the series.

Review: The Temptation of Lila and Ethan by Jessica Sorensen

From the #1 New York Timesbestselling author of the Ella and Micha series comes a gripping story of passion, pain, and the courage to love . . .

THE TEMPTATION OF LILA AND ETHAN

On the surface, Lila Summers is flawless: good looks, expensive clothes, and a big, beautiful smile. But a dark past and even darker secrets are threatening to bubble over her perfect façade. She'll do anything to keep the emptiness inside hidden-which leads her into situations that always end badly. Whenever she hits bottom, there's only one person who's there to pull her out: Ethan Gregory.

Ethan set the rules a long time ago: he and Lila are just friends. He doesn't do relationships. Although his tattooed, bad boy exterior is a far cry from Lila's pretty princess image, Ethan can't deny they have a deeper connection than he's used to. If he's not careful, he could be in serious danger of becoming attached-and he's learned the hard way that attachment only leads to heartbreak.

When Lila falls farther than she ever has before, can Ethan continue to help as a friend? Or is he also getting close to falling . . . for her?

Review:
The Temptation of Lila and Ethan is a story that will grip you from the very first page until the very last. We have to two troubled souls who both have had difficult pasts. But they have each other and maybe just maybe they may love each other.

I am not even gonna lie, that was somewhat depressing book when I first started reading. People suck. I feel sad for anyone who has this kinda life and don't know what it's like to feel love and to feel wanted.

The parents in the story really pissed me off. And to think there are parents out there just like this! Sometimes even worse then the ones I just read about. I'm lucky enough to have had parents who loved me and cared what I did.

Holy sexual tension! Seriously the sexual tension was amazing and kinda hot. Um,candy canes anyone?!

Ella and Micha are amazing and I love them but I think I might just care for Lila and Ethan a little bit more. Lila's situation is so tough to read about and I wanted to help her so bad. The happy go lucky girl is coming undone, and doesn't have anyone to be there for her.

Ethan is a bit more complex. He's filled with so much guilt for an event that happened in his life and it's eating him alive. Will he ever be able to forgive himself?

I fell in love with Ethan! He tries to be this bad boy who doesn't care but really he is a sweetheart with a heart of gold. He's amazing.

It was also nice getting to see our favorite couple from the first two books. Getting to see from another pov was refreshing.
I felt heartbreak and love and so much pain while reading this. It's definitely a story that won't leave me anytime soon.

**Deals with some tough subject matters.

This is for the fans of the Ella and Micha series and of course for the ones who fell in love with both Lila and Ethan. The best friends of Ella & Micha.

Thank you to NetGalley and Forever of The Hatchett Book Group, inc for providing me with a copy for an honest review.

Blog Tour Review&Giveaway:Reflect Me by K.B. Webb

Synopsis:If you're looking for a story about a sweet, innocent virgin who rides off into the sunset with a reformed bad boy, then you're looking in the wrong place.

Some people don’t get a happily ever after. Molly Scott is one of those people, and she knows it. With the kind of past that she has, and the secrets that she holds, she knows that even if she found Prince Charming, he wouldn’t want her. She refuses to dwell on her less than ideal situation though. This is her life, no point in complaining.

Logan Wade had his life planned out, until all his dreams came crashing down around him. Now, he’s come back to the town he swore he would never see again to start fresh. He has no plans to ever settle down again, that’s how he ended up back here in the first place.

When Molly and Logan meet, they are forced to rethink the lives they thought they knew and the futures they were so sure they wanted. Suddenly, Molly wonders if there is a better life outside of the hell she has built for herself, and Logan begins to rethink his resistance towards settling down again.

They say love conquers all, but Molly and Logan are about to find out that sometimes love just isn’t enough.

Excerpt:
“That’s what walls are for, Logan, to keep people out. Did you ever think that there’s a reason I have walls? That some pretty fucked up shit has happened in my life to make me this way.? Do you really want a friend like that?” I looked at him, daring him to say he really wanted this. That he could handle all the shit that came with being part of my life.
“Yeah, yeah I do, Molly. Believe it or not, I’m pretty fucked up myself. I mean, hell, my life sure as shit isn’t all rainbows and daisies and I know yours isn’t either. But if you let me be your friend, Molly, let me help you, maybe we can find out what the rainbows and daisies look like together.”

Review:
“Logan Wade was going to be the death of me, and my vibrator’s batteries!”

Loved it!
It was beautifully written; deep and heartfelt.

“You’re a lot stronger than you think you are. Something just tells me you needed to hear that.” -Logan

Reflect Me is a story about triumph and sticking up for yourself. Molly is in an abusive relationship with her boyfriend, Brian, who also just so happens to be the father of her child. Brian’s childhood best friend, Logan, is running from his past. While visiting Brian and Justin, Logan and Molly meet for the first time, and things between them were never the same.

Molly hasn’t had it easy in her life. Then when she was in her teens, tragedy strikes and she found herself just living day to day up until she got pregnant with her daughter, Lyric. If you want to find out more about Lyric, I am afraid you’re going to have to read the book!

“I would never think you were a fat ass, because your ass is amazing. I’m going to call you Cookie because that’s what you are. You are the best kind of cookie there is; a little hard on the outside, but sweet and soft on the inside, mouthwatering, made to perfection, and I could eat you all day long and never get sick of you.” –Logan

My heart physically hurt for Molly because of the things she had to endure being with Brian. Not only does he beat her, he is emotionally and verbally abusive as well. I was able to relate because I’ve also had a boyfriend who beat me down but with words, and made me feel weak. I don’t wish that type of pain on anyone. Emotional scars never really do seem to go away.

Molly and Logan begin a friendship but just as quickly fall in love. It was a deep love and one that some people take their whole lives to find. I adore the way they treat each other! It’s so sweet.

Once you start reading Reflect Me, you won’t be able to stop. It’s real. Not fluffy at all. The book doesn’t end in a cliffhanger but there will be a second book involving different characters! I can’t tell you how excited that made me!

“I need to be in your life and I need you in mine.”
