One night changed my life forever.
Beau Bennett has been my best friend since I can remember. He was my first crush before everything came crashing down, and now he wants more, but it's more than I can give him. Things are different now. I wish I could tell him why, but I can't.
I haven’t told anyone.
I never knew how much I really needed him until the day he left for college, and I was completely alone.
Then one day, Asher Hunt rides into town with his dark, captivating eyes and cocky grin. He doesn't care who I used to be, he's simply breathing life into what’s left. People warn me to stay away from him, but he helps me forget the pain that has held me hostage for so long; something I thought was impossible before he walked into my life.
I’ve been hurt.
I’ve been saved.
And I’ve found hope.
I thought my story was written that night, but now I know it was only a new beginning. Until one secret turns my world upside down…
Again.

“One night, one moment, one decision can change the whole path that our future takes.”
So now that I have your attention, let me tell you a little story about this wonderful book I read called, When it Rains. It’s everything I could want and more. We have Kate, our beautifully broken heroine, who has been hurt beyond repair. She is so broken that she’s pushed everyone away and kept her best friend, Beau, at arms length. One night changed everything and in Kate’s eyes, there is no hope and no one there to save her. Or so she thought.
“You’re strength is inspiring.”
But before I get into some of the good stuff, let me share with you how much love I have for this beautiful story filled with beautiful characters. I love, yes LOVE, When it Rains. I cried. I laughed. I swooned. I fell hard and I didn’t even see it coming. I finished the book days ago and yet, I still can’t get it out of my head. I recently told Lisa that I feel as if I have a big hole in my chest where my heart used to be. In fact, it’s a HUGE chunk missing. I don’t plan on getting that piece back because it has been left with the characters and words of this book. I’m getting all teary eyed just thinking about it.
“Are you going to miss me?” I asked. I instantly regret the words as soon as they slip out of my mouth.
“Yes, Kate, I’m going to miss you. I’m so damn in love with you, I can barely stand to spend a few hours apart from you, and now we’re going to be miles and hours apart. It sucks. It really fucking sucks,” he says.
Poor Beau. He’s going off to college five hours away from home. I felt bad for him for various reasons but the main one was how much Kate pushed him away. A person can only be patient for so long until they break. And while Beau got mad and didn’t talk to her for a few days, he always came back. To me that shows just how loyal and good hearted he is. I instantly adored him.
“My fact for the day: I wanted to come over here as soon as you drove away yesterday. I want to know you. I want to know what it is that made you cry, but more than that; I want to know what I have to do to make you happy again.”–Asher
Cocky, gorgeous, and full of life. That is what I will use to describe Asher. He came into Kate’s life like a hurricane and demanded to be let in. He didn’t take no for an answer and for some reason, Kate let him. He helps her face her fears and in the end, ends up saving her from herself.
“I want to kiss you whenever I want. I want to hold you. I want you to tell me all of your secrets and eventually tell you all of mine.” -Asher
Yes I sure did swoon at that part. I have no shame! I like how the story shows the possibility of falling in love with two people. Most everyone is lucky if they find one love in this lifetime, but two? It’s a fantastic idea and I can see where something like that could happen.
“When it rains, Kate, remember me.”
Oh god, I am crying again! This is not a light read at all. It deals with a very heavy subject matter. You want to cry? Buy this book. You want to fall in love with two boys? (And you will) Buy this book. You want to watch a broken girl grow into a strong woman? Buy this book.
