Blog Tour Review + Giveaway—Announcing Trouble by Amy Fellner Dominy

Announcing Trouble by Amy Fellner Dominy
Publication Date: August 5, 2019
Publisher: Entangled Teen Crush

I may know everything there is to know about baseball, but that doesn’t mean I have to like it. Or like him. Garrett Reeves: sidelined player and the embodiment of everything I’ve learned to hate about baseball. He’s gorgeous, he’s cocky, he’s laser-focused on getting back in the game, no matter the cost.

When he convinces me to call games alongside him, our chemistry heats up the booth. We’re good together, whether I want to admit it or not. I’m finding that I like baseball again, but even worse, I’m liking Garrett. A lot.

But when he has to decide between our future and a new shot at his dreams, I know baseball will win out every time.

Disclaimer: This Entangled Teen Crush book has tons of hilarious banter, lots of sexual tension, and a hero who will throw a wild pitch right at your heart.

Review:
“His hesitation is proof that I’m right. I don’t want a guy who has to think about it. I want a guy who wants me. More than anything.”

Wow. I mean this in the best way possible but that was so much better than I expected. I thought the story had the perfect mixture of being humorous and realistic. Not too deep but enough to get all the feels when a character was going through what I would consider, painful. Painful memories. Sometimes the book had a good dose of angst (which I loved!). You can never go wrong with angst. I felt it all. There was never a dull moment while reading.

Let me brag a bit about the hero, Garrett. He is the epitome of perfection—he’s kind, has a great sense of humor, and he puts up with and fights for a girl who tries so damn hard to push him away. And I get why she does it! Josie’s story is heartbreaking and she suffers from a bit of PTSD from love gone wrong. The way she is and the reasoning behind everything is completely understandable. My heart shattered right along with hers. Josie didn’t even realize that while Garrett was mending her hard heart, she was also healing him as well. It was beautiful.

“I told myself I was standing on the edge of quicksand—close to trouble but in no danger of falling in. Now I realize I’ve been sinking for days.”

I could relate a lot to Josie and I think a lot of readers will too. She uses sarcasm and wit to hide behind a vulnerable state. That being said, she’s actually very independent and strong. The banter between her and Garrett had me laughing and sometimes swooning. Could we have gotten a cooler couple to root for?

On top of all of that, we get baseball! I love baseball and have since I was a very young child. Going the direction of announcing games was brilliant. I know the game very well but broadcasting is not something I’d ever have the guts to do.

“I just know that every minute we’re not together, I want us to be. And that kiss we didn’t have? It was the best kiss of my life.”

I truly enjoyed Announcing Trouble. The characters were a hoot, the plot was fun and refreshing, and the romance was completely swoony!
