Blog Tour Review feat Giveaway: Adapted for film by Stacey Rourke

Title: Adapted for Film
Author: Stacey Rourke
Genre: Romantic Comedy

Aubrey Evans is living every author’s dream; her sizzling romance novel is being turned into a blockbuster film. She would be celebrating this momentous event, if she wasn’t busy fighting over every tiny production detail with the maddeningly cavalier director, Kole Camden.

When news of their heated rivalry hits the gossip columns, drastic measures must be taken to save their sinking project. In an elaborate PR hoax, she is publicly linked to Greyson Meyers, the swoon-worthy star of her movie. A whirl-wind love affair is staged for the couple to mirror the steamy chapters of her own books.

Can the introverted author resist the charms of Hollywood’s sexiest leading man? Or will love find her in the City of Angels?
Review:
Adapted for Film is exactly what I think it would be like when an author is lucky enough to have his/her works being made into a movie. Minus the romance. I don't think it's always so romantic. Or maybe it is? What do I know! The story is both fun and funny. I found myself laughing it loud throughout the book. Aubrey as a lead character was great because she was witty and sarcastic and didn't take herself too seriously. The male leads were swoon-worthy and brought so much life to the pages!

As you've read, Aubrey's book is getting turned into a film. The first day she is on set she meets the sexy director, Kole Camden, who may be single-handedly ruining the book! So obviously, Aubrey has to intervene, right? All book nerds know the pain of seeing a favorite book come to life on the big screen and be hugely disappointed. So I loved seeing Aubrey fighting to make it be the vision she imagined it to be. The story is being told in a past tense way, Aubrey is getting interviewed about her time on the set and the drama that happened during that time. Apparently, early on we see that she gets involved with the hero of the movie as well as Kole. Enter Greyson. But does she really get involved with them?

The secondary characters were, how do I put it, a-freaking-mazing! Seriously, they were great. Especially Tandy and Mateo; they were fun to read about and I hope those two get a story to themselves. It would be a shame if they didn't. They were that funny!

Who does she end up with? I think the story started off very well but towards the end I feel like it may have been rushed. The characters were great, the book was engaging, and I found myself wanting more. If you're looking for a story about a feisty author and two hot Hollywood hunks, this book is for you! Plus you can't beat the price that it's at right now. ( it's $0.99 btw!)
