I only had a moment to observe how very clean it was before he had me against the wall, pinned by his huge physique. “You never came.” His voice was a low, husky whisper. “I waited all night.” My hands rested on his chest, and heat flamed through me with every heartbeat. My eyes traveled up, up, up to his. They were darkened now, and I was certain he was thinking the same thing as me.  He remembered how fantastically our bodies came together two nights ago. I barely registered him reaching out to lock the door.  “I’m sorry,” was all I could say. “When you walked in the restaurant tonight… god, you’re so beautiful.” He spoke against my skin as his lips pressed into my brow, his beard roughing my closed eyelids. “Are you feeling bad?” “No,” I managed to say despite the heat surging through me as his lips moved to my temple. “I... didn't think I could eat.” “Good,” he said in a thick voice before covering my mouth with his. Mine opened quickly, drawing him in. Our tongues entwined before his lips moved to my jaw then down my neck.  "I thought about you all day.” His breath whispered across my skin, and I couldn't stop a surge of desire low in my stomach. “Will you let me have you here?” “Yes,” I barely spoke, and he dropped to his knees. He gathered the thin fabric of my dress, shoving it up to my waist as he caught the side of my thong with his thumb.

Everything You Know
Release Date: 09/27/13

Summary from Goodreads:
A dark forest, a screaming woman and blood. These are the images that haunt seventeen year old Emma from the moment she meets Joe Castlellaw. And so much more awaits.

Emma Mathews never believed she was like everyone else, but neither did she think herself crazy. Meeting Joe Castlellaw, Henry Dearborn High’s newest student, was like waking on a cold rock in a strange place, the world bathed in liquid moonlight. Everything is different now…and fraught. Visions of a dark forest, a screaming woman and blood have begun to haunt Emma’s dreams, and not only at night. But Joe’s lonely beauty makes her float on air, and she would follow him anywhere—out of high school and through the great tree, to a world of poetry and political savagery, of magic and murder, to a life that is entirely theirs and yet unlike anything they have ever known.

About the Author
More than a little obsessed with Keats and MOBY DICK and fueled by loud music and cold grey days, Mary Beth Bass is the author of young adult fantasy and romantic women’s fiction. Her debut paranormal-women’s fiction hybrid, FOLLOW ME received the Book Buyers Best Award for Time Travel, Fantasy, and Paranormal Romance.

An occasional travel writer, Mary Beth has written about Paris, Bordeaux, and Yorkshire, where she hiked the moors to the legendary setting for WUTHERING HEIGHTS and stood breathless in the parsonage room where Charlotte, Anne, and Emily Bronte talked out their stories with each other.

And if I seem a little strange, well that’s because I am.
Also loves octopuses.

Blog Tour Review: Dark Wings by Skyla Madi

Synopsis:**Mature Content Warning** Recommended for ages 17+ due to language and sexual content."I don't want to kill you, not anymore." He said, coming to face me. "I want to be with you. I want to hold you and touch you and--" He exhaled. "I. Want. You."Violet Ashton is an exemplary angel with ninety-nine kills under her belt.
Nothing could make her underestimate herself until she's sent to hunt down Death, one of the Four Horseman of the Apocalypse. Or as Violet knows him--Lucas Cross, her ex-mentor and ex-lover. Defining the line between what her job requires and what her heart wants is the hardest decision she's ever had to make.

Lucas Cross is an angel turned demon.

The only thing he had to worry about was helping his brothers end the world, that was until Violet blew into town. From the moment he saw her again his normal self has fought hard to keep down the demon that desperately wants to kill her. Torn between love and hate, Lucas is determined to push all of Violet's limits.

The feud between the Never Dark realm and The Underworld is at boiling point and if Violet can't complete her mission Earth will pay the ultimate price.

Review:
“You have until sunrise to leave Earth or I will come back and kill you.”

Dark Wings is ridiculously sexy and provocative.

Violet is a kick ass angel who has killed ninety-nine demons and she is looking for her one hundredth kill. The lucky one just so happens to be her ex-lover, Lucas. And like the book, he’s also ridiculously sexy and provocative. It turns out Violet knew what she was doing and knew who she was going to kill before hand. The girl wants closure. Wouldn’t you if the love of your life turned to the dark side and became the very thing that you are destined to kill?

“I just went head to head with my friend, my mentor, and the love of my life-my heart hurt a lot more than any physical injury I’d sustained.” -V

I immensely enjoyed reading all that sexual tension and the love/hate relationship that Lucas and Violet seemed to share. It made the story interesting. I can’t tell you how many times I giggled like a little school girl due to the conversations being witty.

Demons are ranked by damage they do, there are five different categories:
Category 1- The Banshee, Tracker Demons, Seers, and other demons that blend in with society. They are allowed to walk earth freely just as long as they don’t kill anybody.
Category 2- Succubi and Incubi. These demons stick to the sex industry.
Category 3- vampires(no longer exist), werewolves and shards. Shards are a catlike demon that preys on wild animals and sometimes humans.
Category 4- fallen angels and human-like demons.
Category 5- THE WORST. Can’t appear on earth without causing mass destruction and death. Skatters(gimp-like creature sent into a frenzy by a rapidly beating heart), necromancers, the four horsemen of the apocalypse, and the Underworld Council.

Can you take a wild guess which one Lucas falls under?
He is Death and he has come to destroy the world!

“I was no longer her mentor, her lover, or the angel protecting Earth and killing demons. I was lost-gone forever.” –Lucas

Lucas and Violet definitely struggled with wanting to kill each other yet wanting to have sex everytime they got around one another. The chemistry was outta this world…no pun intended. I wish to have had read some more flashbacks with them as student/teacher. The love between them was undeniable from the flashbacks we did get.

“If I could change things, I would’ve been more professional when I was training you. I would have tried harder not to fall in love with you. You don’t deserve this.”-Lucas

This is a must read for UF/paranormal romance lovers. Lucas is a bad boy worth loving and Violet is an independent bad ass.

The Iron Traitor by Julie Kagawa- Review

Synopsis:
In the real world, when you vanish into thin air for a week, people tend to notice.

After his unexpected journey into the lands of the fey, Ethan Chase just wants to get back to normal. Well, as "normal" as you can be when you see faeries every day of your life. Suddenly the former loner with the bad reputation has someone to try for-his girlfriend, Kenzie. Never mind that he's forbidden to see her again.

But when your name is Ethan Chase and your sister is one of the most powerful faeries in the Nevernever, "normal" simply isn't to be. For Ethan's nephew, Keirran, is missing, and may be on the verge of doing something unthinkable in the name of saving his own love. Something that will fracture the human and faery worlds forever, and give rise to the dangerous fey known as the Forgotten. As Ethan's and Keirran's fates entwine and Keirran slips further into darkness, Ethan's next choice may decide the fate of them all.

Review:
WTH!!!!!!!

How could it end like that........

Do I seriously have to wait a WHOLE year for the next one?

It's no secret that I'm a huge Iron Fey fan. I've been hooked since the very first book. Even though I miss the original gang, I enjoy getting inside Ethan's head, he is so complex and interesting.

The Iron Traitor starts off where The Lost Prince left off. It's been a week since they have been back from all the drama involving the forgotten. Only problem is Keirran has gone missing and nobody knows where he is. Ethan, Kenzie, and Annwyl find themselves in another adventure where the stakes are high for the ones they love, and nothing is as it seems.

This is the type of book where I don't want to give too much away. The beginning was a little too slow for my taste but it quickly picks up. Ethan is such a strong lead character, very loyal and fearless.

I will have to warn you though, this ends in a humongous cliff hanger! I have a book hangover, it's that good!

For all you Iron Fey fans, you will not want to miss out in the next installment!! Amazing. Julie has done it again. And honestly I am not at all surprised.

Thank you via NetGalley and Harlequin Teen for providing me with a copy for an honest review.

Book Blitz & Giveaway: Just Ella by Annette K. Larsen

Just Ella Tour
Just Ella Just Ella by Annette K. Larsen Book Summary: A Proper Romance Ariella was only looking for a distraction, something to break up the monotony of palace life. What she found was a young man willing to overlook her title and show her a new and vibrant way of life. But when her growing feelings for Gavin spiral out of control and clash with the expectations of her station, she will discover that the consequences of her curiosity are far more severe than she’d imagined. I watched in helpless horror as two guards hauled Gavin to his feet and dragged him from the room. My voice was frozen, unable to protest as another guard took hold of my arm, leading me upstairs. From the confines of my room, I stared into the darkness beyond my window, hoping to catch one more glimpse of Gavin. He was gone, and I wondered if he would have been better off if he had never met me. I write clean romance. Why? Because that’s what I love to read, but over the years I’ve discovered it’s quite a challenge to find good clean romance. I believe it’s a genre that many people are looking for and too few authors are writing. My first novel, Just Ella, took me many years to write because I wanted it to be more than just a cutesy love story. I wanted it to have depth, to feel genuine. Hopefully I succeeded, but you’ll have to be the judge.
Praise for Just Ella "I fell in love with this book. Treat yourself to something wonderful. You can't go wrong with Just Ella!" ~Inspired Kathy from I Am A Reader, Not A Writer "By far one of the best romance novels I've ever read. Pulls you in with great, likable characters and keeps you going with a sweet and exciting love story--plus a good plot to give it even more substance. Full of those tender moments you want to go back and read again, plus exciting moments, clever humor, and some suspense as well." ~Jana Miller "Annette Larsen writes a love story that takes time, is complicated, and yet still sweeps you up in the romance (without the cheese, thank you). It's compelling and emotional and sweet and you will love every page." ~Kimi
Book Blast/Blog Tour Special
Grab your copy of Just Ella for just $3.99!
3.99 Excerpt “Now, wait just a minute. You can’t just plunge into a pool of water.” “Why not?” I should have said something cleverer, but I felt a bit scatterbrained, all thoughts having fled when Gavin’s arm went around me. He made a noise of exasperation. “Why not, she asks. Because, Princess, what’s going to happen when you show up for your lessons completely drenched? Or, what happens when we both show up on the palace grounds completely drenched? I don’t know about you, but I don’t want to have to explain that to anybody.” Unfortunately, he had a point. “Don’t call me Princess.” He had been so relaxed today, so willing to be himself and let me be myself. I hated that he felt the need to remind me of my rank. I was tempted to be angry and walk away but I also wanted to see how long he would keep his arms around me. Simply out of curiosity, of course.

annetteAuthor Annette K. Larsen I was born in Utah, but grew up in Flagstaff Arizona and St. Louis Missouri, the fifth of seven children. I attended college at Southern Virginia University and Brigham Young University where I studied English and Theater. I now live in Idaho with my husband and four children. I have Charlotte Bronte to thank for the courage to write novels. After being bombarded with assigned reading about women who justified abandoning either their families or their principles in the name of love, I had the great fortune of reading Jane Eyre. And that was it: finally a heroine who understood that being moral and making the right choice was hard, and sometimes it hurt, but it was still worth it. After rereading it several years later, I realized that if I wanted more books to exist with the kinds of heroines I admired, then I might as well write a few myself. My books are about women who face hard choices, who face pain and rejection and often have to sacrifice what they want for what is right. The consequences are often difficult or unpleasant, but it the end, doing what’s right will always be worth it. I believe there is no substitute for good writing or good chocolate. Fortunately, one often leads to the other.

Author Bio
In Changed Forever, I shared with you some interesting things about the number thirteen. There will be more in book two. But, do you really believe there are energy patterns like that which affect our lives? Let me tell you a few things about thirteen in my life. My name has thirteen letters. I was born in the sign of Scorpio, which is represented in tarot by Key 13. I got my first job at the age of thirteen. I worked there until I graduated from high school. I had one other job after that. Then at the age of twenty-six, thirteen years after I got my first job, I switched to a good paying job which I kept for many years. There are other significant thirteens, but this is a short bio so I’ll skip to the present. On July 13, 2012, a Friday the thirteenth, a freak accident at work broke a bone in my hand. It was bad and needed surgery. I decided it wasn’t a problem but an opportunity; time to prepare myself, and get The Dreams of Sara Knight ready for publication. Exactly one year later, on July 13, I received the edited copy of my manuscript back from my editor. I was ready to go. So, here we are in 2013 and my life course is changing again as I publish my first novel. And by the way, as I do this, I have been studying with a western mystery school for 13 years. So, you decide, is life more about patterns of energy than we normally consider? It certainly is. We are vital energy beings first, and live in an electrical universe. Someday I’ll write the whole story and share it with you.

Back Cover Copy

I hope you like the front cover. Isn’t that beautiful artwork? It’s called, The Connection. To me, it portrays the same thing as the yin-yang symbol, but in a modern, artistic, fractalized kind of way. Look at the front cover again. See how the two archetypal powers are intertwined in a beautiful swirling embrace; locked in an eternal dance with each other.
The alchemists often referred to these two divine principles as gold and silver, or the sun and moon. They were always pursuing the secret of secrets, the perfect relationship between them. One who succeeded in their art was born anew. See the new offspring being born in the picture?
This picture also depicts the inter-connectedness between the spiritual realm and the natural world. It even looks like penetration into the dream world. Can you see it?
Now, after you’ve read the book, look at it again. See if your knowledge and appreciation for this dynamic, rhythmic interchange hasn’t become more ecstatic. Beautiful art can touch the heart, so can beautiful thinking. Hopefully, The Dreams of Sara Knight will inspire beautiful thinking

** Excerpt**
“I guess it does,” Cindy agreed. “That’s because the real goal of a human life is finding our center, and living from that center.”
“Our heart, right Mom? It’s about finding our heart,” Sara told her.
“Yes dear; your heart, your center, your higher self, the Christ consciousness; it’s called many things,” Cindy explained.
“I like to call it our heart,” Sara told her.
“Okay, we’ll call it your heart,” Cindy agreed.
“Okay Mom,” Sara said, as she went over and took her mother’s hand. “Come with us now and you can read our journals.” Kara caught on and quickly took her mother’s other hand. Then the girls led her upstairs to their room.
Once they were up there, Sara led her to sit down on the edge of Kara’s bed, right next to where her dream journal was sitting. Kara picked it up and handed it to her mom. Cindy treated it very respectfully as she slowly opened the cover to look inside. Kara sat on one side, and Sara sat on the other, as they watched their mom looking at the inscription.
“Could you read it out loud?” Kara asked.
“The subconscious mind is the link to infinite intelligence.” Cindy paused for a moment and then said, “I like that very much. It’s really true. I see why you girls kept looking at each other that way when I was talking. You will be learning a lot about the subconscious mind. It’s a mystery worth exploring. This inscription is true because your subconscious is connected to the universal subconscious, or more correctly, is a part of it. Think of the internet, how each computer has access to the whole internet, but uses it in its own unique way. That’s how our subconscious is. We have access to the whole thing to use in our own unique way. So it’s really true, girls. You have access to the whole universe through your subconscious mind, and you’ll be learning how to take advantage of that.”

I would like to take the opportunity of this book tour to inspire people to go beyond the ordinary, therefore, here are some quotes I’d like to sprinkle along the way:

“Trust in dreams, for in them is hidden the gate to eternity.”-Khalil Gibran

“Dreams are today’s answers to tomorrow’s questions.”-Edgar Cayce

“Our truest life is when we are in dreams awake.”-Henry David Thoreau

“All that we see or seem, is but a dream within a dream.”-Edgar Allen Poe

“I think it was more than a dream. It seemed so real, even more than real.”-Sara Knight
