ABOUT THE BOOK
Written by Michael Okon
Publisher’s Synopsis: After Monsterland has been destroyed, the entire world is thrown into chaos. Wyatt Baldwin and his friends must go beyond the boundaries of their small town to reestablish contact with the outside world. During their journey they discover a new threat released from the bowels of the defunct theme park. The danger of werewolves, vampires and zombies pale in comparison to an army of relentless mummies, Vincent Conrad’s reanimated monster and the menace of a life-sucking ooze they call The Glob. Will Wyatt and his friends survive when they reenter the scariest place on earth?
Interview:
- We’re very excited to have you on The Lovely Books today! Can you please tell us a bit about yourself?
- I’m 5’11. 200lbs. I workout twice a week. I’m up early (6am) everyday. I write all my books as scripts first, then convert them to novels. I also like long walks on the beach. That last part isn’t necessarily true.
- When did you first realize you wanted to be a writer?
- 5 years old. I was able to write short stories and create a mini universe that I was inviting the reader into. Been creating universes ever since.
- Where did you come up with the idea to write Monsterland Reanimated? And how long did it take you to write it?
- I knew when writing the first Monsterland that part II was going to have the monsters it did. The story flows seamlessly together. It took me about 3 weeks to beat it out and 1 month to write. Then 6 months of fine-tuning with my editor.
- What’s your writing process?
- I research and develop my subject all day. Then I write in the evening. I tuck the kids in at 8pm. Then my wife at 830pm. I write every night until midnight.
- Are you a dog or cat person?
- Allergic to both, but I’ve always been a dog person.
- If you were stranded on a desert island and were only allowed one book to take with you—which book would it be?
- The Secret so I can get myself off the island.
- Do you have any advice for aspiring authors?
- Patience is key to lasting in this industry. Nothing happens overnight. There are so many moving parts, you simply have to have patience with the process.
- Please tell our readers what makes your story different from all the rest.
- It’s a reimaging of the classic 30s-60s horror movies. Who doesn’t love mummies, The Blob and Frankenstein’s monster?
