Loving him was hard. Wanting him was so damn easy . . .

Sofia Mercer may have been sick as a teen, but she’s no delicate flower. And she’s proven it by making it on her own and starting a new life away from the town that turned against her, away from the boy who broke her already fragile heart. But when her aunt Luz dies unexpectedly, leaving Sofia with a mountain of regrets and the keys to a quirky boutique, Sofia has no choice but to return to Cape Cod. Only, this new life in her old town comes with complications.

Burke Wolf was Sofia’s first love—a relationship that burned bright and went up in flames. Seeing him again, Sofia can’t help but get caught up in that all-too-familiar tornado of passion and pain. He’s battled his own demons—that much is clear. But Sofia can’t afford to be careless with her heart . . . and loving Burke again might just break it completely.

Release Day Blitz feat Review + Giveaway- WINNER TAKES ALL by Erin Kern

Title: Winner Takes All
Author: Erin Kern
Series: A Champion Valley Series
On Sale: August 30, 2016

Formats: Mass Market & eBook
Price: $6.99 USD (MM) / $6.99 USD (eBook)

Money. Fame. Endorsements. Blake Carpenter had it all—before his professional football career spiraled out of control. Determined to rebuild his life, he takes on coaching the high school team in his Colorado hometown. Despite a few fumbles, Blake knows he can lead these boys to victory. As long as he can keep his eyes on the prize and off the team's distractingly gorgeous physical therapist.

Annabelle Turner knows all about the scandal that cost Blake his NFL career, and she'll be damned if she's going to let his mistakes hurt her team. What she doesn't count on is the intense attraction that turns every heated run-in they have into a wildly erotic competition. Point by point, play by play, kiss by kiss, they try to keep things professional for the good of the team. But when the score is this close—and the passion this fierce—it's anybody's game . . .

Hot mama! Winner Takes All was way fun with the sexy characters and the off the charts chemistry the two had. This book is the first book in a series of books about football boys and their women. I for one fell in love with the small town romance and the story as a whole. There's just something about Winner Takes All that had me grinning the whole time.

Blake was the "It" man - he had the money, the privileged life, and a pro football contract that most boys dream of getting. But it all comes crashing down when he gets caught for doping. The end result? He becomes the high school football head coach. It would all be good and all but not only does the team play like the bad news bears, but he has the one season to get them to turn around and win.

To make matters worse (or better) a beautiful woman claims to be the team's physical therapist. The two do not come off to a good start. But Annabelle won't let the impossible asshole, Blake, scare her away. Nope. Girl totally knows how to hold her own. Once the two start working together? Oh hell, they never stood a chance.

Do you like contemporary romance? Sports? Hot men? Good storyline? Witty dialogue? If you answered yes to any or all, then this book is for you! Make sure you go to your local retail site and pick it up. It will make
you feel all warm and gooey inside. How could you possibly pass that up?

As the daughter of a meth dealer, Wavy knows not to trust people, not even her own parents. Struggling to raise her little brother, eight-year-old Wavy is the only responsible "adult" around. She finds peace in the starry Midwestern night sky above the fields behind her house. One night everything changes when she witnesses one of her father's thugs, Kellen, a tattooed ex-con with a heart of gold, wreck his motorcycle. What follows is a powerful and shocking love story between two unlikely people that asks tough questions, reminding us of all the ugly and wonderful things that life has to offer.

All the Ugly and Wonderful Things is a book that I knew I had to have right away. It's one that I knew would be different in a way that would be somewhat controversial. And it was. A grown man falling in love with a little girl. How twisted is that? I applaud the author for the simple fact that she was able to bring such an issue as this and make it her own. There were some disturbing things in the book and if you're one who won't be able to read the book with an open mind, I would suggest skipping this. Just for the sheer fact that it thinks outside the box and gives us a story that all of us would be in rage if we're to ever happen in "real life".

Wavy is the one that story is mainly about. She's gotten the short end of the stick her whole life; a drug dealer father, a mother who can barely function without drugs, and living a life that most of us could never imagine. She takes care of herself and her smaller brother, Donal. She does what any adult would do but the thing is she isn't an adult. She's a child who is wise beyond her years. Then she meets Kellen. Kellen is one of her fathers men; one that does all the dirty work. Aside from that, he's a good guy. He sees the kind of life Wavy lives and all he wants to do is be there for her.

As the years pass by, the two become closer and closer - falling in love. Wavy is still very much a child, while Kellen is more than half her age. The thing is and I feel I must repeat, he's a good guy. He's not a man whose driven by sexual desires. Instead, he finds in Wavy, an equal. Someone who understands him and shows him love he's never known before.

The story is sad, disturbing, and hopeful all rolled up into one. I think those are perfect themes for the book because life is often ugly but without the ugly, how would we ever appreciate the wonderfulness it has to offer? This is a book that won't leave me anytime soon. Whatever your view may be, one thing I can't give enough praise to is the writing. Absolutely gorgeous and it will make you think. By the end of the page I felt like I lived a whole lifetime. This to me is what reading's all about.

Burning Moon, #1
Almost A Bride, #2

Michael Edwards—fiancé of one year, perfect boyfriend of two—had left me, Lilly Swanson, just ten minutes before I was scheduled to walk down the aisle. The bottle of perfume that he’d wanted me to wear today, insisted I wear, because “it was his favorite,” mocked me from the dressing table. So I picked it up and threw it against the wall, watching it shatter into a million pieces, just like my life. I was hit by the sickly sweet smell of jasmine and felt sick to my stomach.
What was I going to tell the five-hundred guests who were sitting in the church waiting for me? Some had even flown here to South Africa all the way from Australia.
Hi everyone. Thanks for coming. Guess what? SURPRISE! No wedding!
A wedding that my father had spent a small fortune on.
A wedding that was going to be perfect.
Perfect, dammit. Perfect!
I’d made sure of that. I had painstakingly handled every single tiny detail. It had taken months and months of meticulous planning to create this day, and now what?
Things went very blurry all of a sudden. I vaguely remember my brother James bursting into the room, screaming insults and then vowing to kill him. He even punched the best man when he claimed to have no knowledge of Michael’s whereabouts. My rational, logical father tried to find a legitimate motive for Michael’s behavior, insisting we speak to him before jumping to any rash conclusions. Hundreds of phone calls followed: where was he? Who had seen him? Where did he go?
At some stage the guests were told, and the rumor mill went into full swing…
 He’d had an affair.
He’d eloped with someone else.
He was a criminal on the run.
He was gay.
He’d been beamed up by aliens and was being experimented on. (Hopefully it was painful.)
People threw around bad words like bastard, asshole and liar. They also threw around words like shame, sorry and pity. They wondered whether they should take their wedding gifts back, or leave them. What was the correct protocol in a situation like this?
While the world around me was going mad, I felt a strange calm descend. Nothing seemed real anymore, and I began to feel like a voyeur looking at my life from a distance. I didn’t care that I was sitting on the floor in my bra and panties. I didn’t care that my mascara and lipstick were so smudged I looked like Batman’s Joker. I just didn’t care.
Some minutes later my other brother Adam, the doctor, burst in and insisted I drink a Coke and swallow the little white pill he was forcing down my throat. It would calm me, he said.
Shortly after that, my overly dramatic, theater-actress mother rushed in to give the performance of her life.
“Why, why, why?” She placed her hand across her heart.
“What is this, a madness most discreet? A stench most foul?” She held her head and cried out, Whyyy?!”
“For heaven’s sake, Ida, this isn’t some Shakespearean bloody play.” I could hear the anger in my father’s voice. Even after 18 years of divorce, they still couldn’t be civil to each other.
“Lest I remind you that all the world is a stage.” My mother shouted back, the deep timbre in her voice quivering for added dramatic tension as she tilted her head upward and clenched her jaw.
“There you go again with your crap! Clearly you still haven’t learned to separate fantasy from reality!”
“Well, I managed to do that with our marriage!”
My brother jumped between them. “Stop it. This isn’t the time!”
And then all pandemonium broke out.
The priest came around to offer some kind of spiritual guidance but exited quickly, and very red-faced, when he saw my state of undress. Some inquisitive relatives stuck their heads through the door, painted with sad, sorry puppy-dog looks, but they, too, left when they saw me spread-eagled on the floor.
An enormous ruckus ensued when the photographer burst in and started talking photos of me—no one had told him. The ruckus became a total freak show when my favorite cousin Annie, who had designed my dress for free as a wedding gift, saw the state of her “best creation” lying crumpled and torn on the floor.  She looked like she was about to cry.
Then everything went very blurry and the noises around me combined into one strange drone.
I closed my eyes and everything went black.
