Falling
hard never felt so good.
Pair skaters Courtney and Mark have one shot left at their Olympic dream. They vow not to let anything get in their way, especially not Josh and Stephanie, the wealthy and talented brother and sister team.
The heart doesn’t always listen to reason, though...
The more time Courtney spends with sweet, shy Josh, the harder she falls for him. But they are on opposite sides of the competition, and their futures are headed in opposite directions. Will their friendship blossom into more or are their paths too different to cross?

Review:
Crossing the Ice is a wonderful
story about skating, romance, and what it means to go after what you want. This
is one of my first books by Jennifer and it certainly won't be my last. It's
also my first time doing a review (& listening to) an audio book! Yes,
that's right. This was my first ever audio book. It's set off my buying four
more books because I love it so much. I didn't think I would honestly because I
like being able to read. But when I take my kid to school in the mornings, I
listen to a book. Even better? My kid wants me to start buying him stories to
listen to! Anyways, back to the story.
Overall- 4 stars for being such a great storyline that was able to keep me engaged.
Performance- 3.5 stars Narrated by Emily Stokes. I can help but say that even though I think she did a great job, there were times when things were supposed to sound romantic, they sounded cheesy instead. Such as when she would do the 'voice' for the mail lead, Josh. For the most part, I think she did well with bringing the characters to life.
Story- 4 stars Sweet and romantic. I liked reading about all the skating and how hard it is just to become an Olympian.
Courtney has only ever had one dream; to be an Olympic ice skater. She and her partner, Mark, have one last chance to make it work. But things get in the way when they're competitors switch coaches and the coaches just so happen to be Court's and Mark's. Life can be so cruel! The more time Courtney spends with Josh though, the more she realizes how kind and genuine he is. Unlike his sister, Stephanie, who I might add is a grade-A biotch.
I think the romance was pretty sweet. Slow and steady always wins the race, right? There aren't any love triangles or insta-love. It's all slowly built up, which seriously makes it so much better. Since the hero is not the asshole type, I find that there wasn't any angst. This is a romance novel through and through. I love how the story centers on skating. During the Winter Olympics, this is one of my favorite programs to watch. The skaters always make it look so easy but I know it's so much hard work and dedication to make it look like that!
I can't wait to dive into the second book and find out where Josh and Court end up. If you're looking for a light-hearted romance that involves an ice rink, then this book is for you!
