Cover Reveal feat Giveaway:
Birthday Girl by Penelope Douglas!!!

Title: Birthday Girl
Genre: Contemporary Romance
Author: Penelope Douglas
Release Date: April 17, 2018

Synopsis:

JORDAN

He took me in when I had nowhere else to go.

He doesn’t use me, hurt me, or forget about me. He doesn’t treat me like I’m nothing, take me for granted, or make me feel unsafe.

He remembers me, laughs with me, and looks at me. He listens to me, protects me, and sees me. I can feel his eyes on me over the breakfast table, and my heart pumps so hard when I hear him pull in the driveway after work.

I have to stop this. It can’t happen.

My sister once told me there are no good men, and if you find one, he’s probably unavailable.

Only Pike Lawson isn’t the unavailable one.

I am.

PIKE

I took her in, because I thought I was helping.

She’d cook a few meals and clean up a little. It was an easy arrangement.

As the days go by, though, it’s becoming anything but easy. I have to stop my mind from drifting to her and stop holding my breath every time I bump into her in the house. I can’t touch her, and I shouldn’t want to.

The more I find my path crossing hers, though, the more she’s becoming a part of me.

But we’re not free to give into this. She’s nineteen, and I’m thirty-eight.

And her boyfriend’s father.

Unfortunately, they both just moved into my house.

*BIRTHDAY GIRL is a stand-alone, contemporary romance suitable for ages 18+.

Blog Tour Excerpt—Just One Spark by Jenna Bayley-Burke

About the Book:

Hannah Daniels reads steamy romance novels to forget her last trip on the love roller coaster shredded her heart and tossed it like confetti. Her instincts about men stink, but at work they’re on point. Only her busy schedule means she reads whenever she can make time. Like at the laundromat while sitting on top of a washing machine. Don’t judge.

Firefighter Mason McNally has searched his whole life for a woman who stirs his soul. When he finds her, she’s nose-deep in a racy paperback atop a vibrating washer. Her beauty, boldness, and raw sensuality ignite his interest. But there’s a problem. He’s forgotten he’s wearing a wedding ring.

No amount of hasty explanations that it’s for his brother’s psychology experiment convinces her to give him a chance. But he’s rushed into fiery situations before, and this woman is totally worth the risk. He’ll just have to prove to her that first impressions can be wrong and their spark of attraction is oh so right.

About Jenna Bayley-Burke:

Excerpt from JUST ONE SPARK:

Wide-eyed, Hannah looked up at him. He reached out as if in a dream, tucked his fingers underneath her chin, and angled her mouth up to accept his. He brushed his lips softly against hers, wondering if she’d resist him. Her eyelids drifted closed, and he let himself taste her. Gently, he kissed her, fighting the urge to push and plunder. She crept her hands up his body and flattened her palms against his chest, resting them there for a second before she firmly pushed him away.
As her heavily fringed lids fluttered open, she said, “I don’t know you. You have no right to kiss me.”
Cocking his head to the side, he wondered if she was more upset that he’d kissed her, or that he’d stopped. From the way her chest hitched with every breath, he’d bet his paycheck on the latter. Still, she denied the attraction.
“That was not a kiss.”
“Excuse me? I know when I’ve been kissed,” she said breathily.
This is a kiss.” Mason reached for her and molded his hands on either side of her creamy oval face. Energy pulsed through him as he pressed his lips to hers. He had one chance to assault her senses the way she did to him with just her presence. A physical expression of just how she made him feel. No softness this time, no holding back.
He pressed his body against hers, his lips firm where hers were pliant. He swallowed her moan as she parted her lips, allowing him inside. His head rushed with the refreshing minty taste of her. He seduced her with the kiss. Caressing. Nipping. Inviting. Taking.
When she ran her fingers through his hair, he relaxed his grip. Reluctantly, he pulled away and gazed at her expression, eyes closed, lips still parted. He grinned down at her as her eyes flickered open, the dichotomy of a single blue and a single green eye studying him intently. Derek was an idiot with his ideas about symmetry. The play of the two colors against each other was amazingly sexy.
“That was a kiss,” she whispered, licking her lips.

Review—Starry Eyes by Jenn Bennett

Publisher: Simon Pulse
Published: April 3, 2018
Genre: YA Contemporary
Source: Print ARC
Rating: 4.5 Stars

Blurb:
Ever since last year’s homecoming dance, best friends-turned-best enemies Zorie and Lennon have made an art of avoiding each other. It doesn’t hurt that their families are the modern day, Californian version of the Montagues and Capulets.

But when a group camping trip goes south, Zorie and Lennon find themselves stranded in the wilderness. Alone. Together.

What could go wrong?

With no one but each other for company, Zorie and Lennon have no choice but to hash out their issues via witty jabs and insults as they try to make their way to safety. But fighting each other while also fighting off the forces of nature makes getting out of the woods in one piece less and less likely.

And as the two travel deeper into Northern California’s rugged backcountry, secrets and hidden feelings surface. But can Zorie and Lennon’s rekindled connection survive out in the real world? Or was it just a result of the fresh forest air and the magic of the twinkling stars?

Review:
Starry Eyes is why I read and love YA—it catches the nostalgia and angst from being a teenager in high school. Zorie and Lennon were the best of friends until they weren’t anymore. The fall out between them not only devastated but shattered Zorie into a million pieces. All she wanted to do was forget. Forget that Lennon was everything she’d ever wanted in a boy—forget that he just up and left her without a word.

But things aren’t always what they seem. Zorie is a planner—she likes remaining in situations she knows she can control. Which is why she’s upset when she learns her mother volunteered for her to go on a camping trip with her friend, Reagan. It’s not just any camping trip either—it’s what you call glamping. Meaning there are hot showers, toilets, actual beds, and gourmet food.

Imagine Zorie’s surprise when Lennon shows up for the camping trip as well. How can these two former best friends manage to be in the same proximity, when all Zorie wants is to know what really happened that night everything changed? I thought the book was cute, romantic, and fun. I loved all the scenes that involved backcountry camping. Zorie and Lennon were amazing characters that won me over from the very beginning.

The story was one that at times was intense and serious—but not enough that it felt crushing. Lennon is seriously swoon-worthy! I liked how he took charge when out in nature. Zorie was awesome but what I loved most was how Lennon had a knack for calming her down without making her feel incompetent. Overall, if you’re into YA contemporary romance and all things involving outdoorsy goodness, Starry Eyes is the perfect read.

Release Blitz Review—Glamour of Midnight By Casey L. Bond

Title: Glamour of Midnight
Author: Casey L. Bond
Genre: YA Epic Fantasy, Fairy Tale Retelling
Editor: Stacy Sanford/ The Girl with the Red Pen
Cover Designer: Melissa Stevens/ The Illustrated Author Design Services
Publication Date: April 5th, 2018
Hosted by: Lady Amber’s PR
Blurb:  Nineteen-year-old Karis has been blind since birth, but for some reason, she can see through the wall of smoke that separates the human lands from those of the Faeries that rule in grand courts on the other side. Most of the time, the only thing she can see on the other side of the wall is the swipe of a tail or the trailing of a bony hand along the surface. But one day, a handsome faerie appears and sweeps her away into his world—a world that is being ravaged by an evil so dark and deadly, she fears she may never see her home again. Loftin is a bounty hunter and he has been searching for Karis since she went missing from the Court of Ash. He needs to return her and collect the ransom. But the longer they travel together and the more he teaches her about what she is now able to see, the more difficult he finds the thought of letting her go. A fiery passion ignites between them, but with a monster tracking their every move, they must find a way to reach the Court of Ash before it kills them both.

Review:
There’re monsters everywhere, K. A wall of smoke doesn’t keep them from living among us.

Fairytale retelling are some of my favorite books to read. I always love to see an authors interpretation of the stories we’ve all grown up knowing. Glamour of Midnight takes the story of Snow White and turns it into something so fun an imaginative—and it has fae, what more could you want?! Fae is another one of my favorite types of books to read—they may even be my favorite supernatural being.

The story starts off a bit slow but picks up more once Karis makes her way into Faery to save her friend, Iric. There’s so much going on once Karis meets Loftin and starts realizing that she’s not human, but fae—with powers that are strong enough to take over the Queen, Nemain. One thing I didn’t much care for was the POV of Loftin; considering he has secrets he can’t have get out, I would have liked it if we were surprised along with Karis once she figures it out. Karis is a character whose innocent, naive, and kind—just like Snow White.

Despite my feelings about Loftin’s pov, I liked him. I loved seeing Faery from Bond’s perspective. It was haunting, scary, but had a certain beauty to it that made it realistic. I think this readers who like retelling, fae, and magical elements to their stories, will love this. It made me want to have a re-read of some of my other favorite fae stories like The Iron King by Julie Kagawa and The Fever Series by Karen Marie Moning.

Your eyes are clear and bright, and your lips...” He shook his head. “I shouldn’t think about those. Your lips are pure torture to a fae male.

I personally enjoyed all the “monsters” aka unseelie that came upon Loftin and Karis. She was so trusting to a lot of stuff in Faery—growing up in the human world will do that to you—and there were several times that Loftin and Karis has to fight for their lives. I felt like the romance was a hit on the insta-love side but it never annoyed me like it usually does. I liked their instant connection and I rooted for them throughout! All in all, I loved the story and the characters that came along for the ride.

Blog Tour Review + Excerpt—The World’s Worst Boyfriend by Erika Kelly

From award-winning author Erika Kelly comes her brand new, smoking hot series about four elite athlete brothers raised in the Tetons by their eccentric, billionaire dad and uncle, The Bad Boyfriend Series! Don’t miss your chance to meet the sexy and extreme Fin Bowie in THE WORLD’S WORST BOYFRIEND! Order your copy today!

Six years ago Fin Bowie made a decision that cost him the love of his life. Now his ex is coming back to town for her brother's wedding, and he can finally make things right. Except, right before the event, a text he sent goes viral. Overnight, he becomes an international meme. And it's hard to win your woman back when the whole world's calling you The World's Worst Boyfriend.

The last thing on Calliope Bell's mind is getting back with Fin. Not when her life's just gone sideways, forcing her to spend the summer in Calamity, Wyoming. She can't be away from the New York art world this long, so she comes up with the idea to turn the hottest pop culture event of the moment into a museum exhibition.

The two have every intention of avoiding each other--until the county judge sentences Fin to community service...helping her exploit the meme he's trying to make go away.

Review:
“His kiss tasted sweet like love, hot like passion, like everything beautiful in the world grew out of this, the tender intimacy of two souls finally, finally rejoining.”

The World’s Worst Boyfriend turned into an unwanted media sensation over night for our poor unsuspecting hero. Fin became a meme and the world worst boyfriend all from a post on Instagram. To be fair, it was all a misunderstanding. Now his career and reputation is on the line. There there’s the whole fiasco with his ex-girlfriend/soulmate, Callie, and seeing her for the first time in six years. Yeah, second chance romance with a hot as sin athlete that wears his heart on his sleeve? Yes...hell yes.

It’s always nice to read a romance where the hero is actually a good guy and doesn’t like to play games. Sure, the games are fun, but Fin knows he messed up all those years ago, and he’ll stop at nothing to get back the girl he loves. I had a moment of clarity when I realized that the type of connection Callie and Fin have is one of a kind and intense. I meant it when I wrote that Callie was his soul mate. It’s no wonder she could never get over what went down between them. Even though six years later, everyone is telling her to do just that—to just let it go. You can never just “let go” of that kind of soul crushing love. No matter how much time has passed.

“I’m empty without you, and no other woman, no friend or brother—no one can take your place. You’re part of me.”

Luckily for all of us, this is the first book in a series of four sexy brothers and the women that bring them to their knees. I can’t wait to read the rest of the brother’s books! You want romantic? You got it! This book is filled with so many romantic and sexy moments that I could scream. Second-chance romance your thing? Look no further! Callie and Fin have known—and loved—each other their whole entire lives; that kind of connection could never be extinguished or broken...for long.

“He was sun-warmed meadows and bracing snow-covered summits. He was tangled sheets and calloused hands. Bone-melting kisses and thrilling gropes in public places. He was abject heartbreak.”

Overall, i think Ms. Kelly has written a sweet, meaningful book that will pull at readers heartstrings. You can try and not fall in love with this story, but you won’t succeed. Even better? We get all kinds of #theworldsworstboyfriend stories within the story to help fuel all the hurt that Fin started ;) The stories from the women in the novel that held on to past hurt, was both empowering and freeing. I’m sad I have to wait until October to get the next book in the series but until then, I guess I could re-read Fin and Callie again.

“You’re going to be mine forever.”
 “I always was.”

Excerpt:
“What’s with the hair, wild thing?” The all-too familiar deep, rough voice cracked through her like a thunderclap.
It might have been a while since she’d heard it, but Callie’s body responded like a rosebud to sunlight. Every cell bloomed and strained in his direction.
Her stomach lurched, and she did not want to turn around. She didn’t want to look at him. With fight or flight kicking in, it took every bit of strength she had not to run like he’d just tossed a lit match at her feet and set her on fire.
“Hey, Fin,” Megan said.
Brushing Callie’s arm as he reached across the small circle they made, Fin met Megan in the middle for a hug. His scent—that hint of sage and clean clothes, the essence of Fin—swirled around her, filling her senses and sending her crashing back in time. She had a matter of seconds to pull herself together and treat him like an acquaintance. Her boyfriend didn’t know about him, so she needed to just be normal, but turbulence scrambled her system, and her mind went blank.
And that pissed her off. She’d prepared for this moment. Hell, she’d rehearsed her responses. But living it, having him right here, she just…dammit. No matter how many nights she’d lain awake scripting this interaction, she couldn’t control her body’s reaction.
Come on. She gave herself an internal shake. He’s just a guy.
But when he pulled back, he turned his full attention on her and…Oh, my God.
For the first time in years, she looked Fin Bowie, in all his six feet two inches of rock-hard muscle, in the eyes. A tremble started from deep within, rising in velocity until her composure shook like a tree in a violent storm. Last time she’d seen him, he’d been a boy. A gorgeous, untamed, mischievous boy who’d kept her on edge for most of her life. His wild, free spirit made him impossible to nail down.
But the boy she’d loved so fiercely had nothing on the man who stood before her. With his overgrown dark hair and bright blue eyes, he was a shock of rugged, raw power next to her lean, elegant boyfriend.

She fished in her purse for her insurance card and looked at the Porsche again. She’d definitely scratched its paint and dented its bumper.
“Fuck, fuck, fuck.” This time the curse did escape her usually prim lips, and she felt marginally better.
Ridiculous mid-life-crisis mobile. What kind of self-respecting adult male actually drove around in that kind of thing? Clearly a total cheeseball. He was probably five-foot-two with a bald head and a big belly. And had thick, black chest hair tangled with gold chains. She braced herself as the door opened.
Faded jeans molded muscled thighs and were topped by a U2 T-shirt that looked like it had been bought at a concert long ago, not recently at some trendy boutique. He pulled himself to his full height, and she had to tilt her head back to look at him.
Holy wow.
She cleared her throat. “I’m s-so sorry I h-hit you.”
She cringed at her stuttering. But it sure wasn’t every day she encountered such a specimen of pure male gorgeousness on her way home. Well over six feet tall with wavy, sandy hair, he was lean with broad shoulders and well-muscled in the way of a tennis player or surfer. He was maybe a bit older than she was, but nothing except the car screamed “mid-life crisis.” If his expression hadn’t been twisted in annoyance, he would have been perfect.
“Are you blind? Do you have any idea how much this car cost?”
Dick.

Release Day Blitz—Staying in Vegas (Vegas Morelli #1) by Sam Mariano

Title: Staying in Vegas
Series: Vegas Morelli Trilogy Book 1
Author: Sam Mariano
Genre: Mafia Romance
Release Date: April 4, 2018 Cover Designer: Covers by Combs
When I met Rafe Morelli, he didn’t look like the biggest mistake I’d ever make; he seemed closer to the crime family version of Prince Charming. Charismatic, beautiful, and attentive—with an intoxicating air of power—Rafe was the stuff of my darkest fantasies.
It should have been a simple fling, no-strings-attached. My hot weekend with the sexy, dominant Vegas boss—a harmless memory to replay once I returned to my quiet, predictable life.
One tiny hitch in that plan: a panty-melting memory isn’t all he left behind. Now the stakes have changed, and I’m faced with a potentially life-altering decision. Do I stay away and enjoy my status as the only woman in known history who has played in the Morelli flames without getting burned, or do I risk stepping back into the fire?
BOOK 1 OF 3 IN THE VEGAS MORELLI TRILOGY

Review:
Only the ruthless make it here. You want sweet tempers and brotherly love? Join a church, not the Morelli family.

This is a Morelli book, meaning you’ve got to go into it with an open-mind—I can’t stress that enough. Their stories are not only unconventional but fucked up. I say that in the best way possible considering I loved Mateo and Mia’s story like it was crack...and I was the junkie that needed my next fix. Which reminds me, read Mia and Mateo’s story first. One thing I went batshit crazy for in the series was none other than Rafe, the hero of Staying in Vegas. Where Mateo was ruthless in a calculating way—Rafe is more charismatic, with an easy smile that could charm the pants off a nun.

I came here because I met a handsome prince at an enchanted castle, but it turns out he was just a frog in a nice suit.

Laurel and Rafe met in the Morelli Family series—it’s the whole reason it’s better to have read those books first that way you aren’t spoiled. They had an amazing weekend together but Laurel is back (in Vegas, no less) with a life-changing decision she must make that Rafe wants no part of. That’s where we are introduced to Sin—Rafe’s enforcer. He’s broody, sexy as hell, and he ends up becoming a character that I’ve grown to love; he’s one that I want to know more about. Obviously, he’s a key player in the game.

You like men who play by their own rules; nothing wrong with that. You’ve certainly come to the right place, kitten.

The way the story ended has me itching for the next book! Laurel is feisty yet submissive. It’s no wonder she’s the object of affection for not one, but two men. How in the world did she get herself into this mess? Her life could be so simple. But Laurel just had to mess with a Morelli. I look forward to seeing how everything turns out. Bring on the angst and fucked up plot lines!
