Review
I'm not going to lie, I
almost wanted to throw this book in my DNF pile. After the abrupt ending
of the first book, I expected a lot going into the sequel. What I got
instead was a book full of up and downs, and cliche like tropes. But in
the end, I'm more than happy for sticking around. And I'm not saying
this wasn't action packed or fast paced, it just fell under the second
book syndrome.
We
are introduced to people that had survived the Doom. That in itself was
pretty interesting. I liked seeing Myra and gang navigate their way
into the world that they only ever heard about. Surviving is obviously a
must and get will do whatever it takes to do so. The characters somehow
were able to weave their way into my heart by the end of the book.
Something I didn't think would be able to happen.
Overall,
I think you'll enjoy this book if you're into science fiction,
dystopian, and post apocalyptic books. Character development and plot
are always a must, and although the story sometimes struggled with that,
I think in the end, the author was able to hook me. I will be picking
up the third book once it has come out because I have to know how the
story will ultimately end.
