Review:
We met Vaughn back in the Stagedive series; his band went on tour with Stagedive but unfortunately, ended up disbanding. Which brings us to the first book in Kylie Scott's brand new series - Dirty - and boy is it ever! We meet Lydia, on her wedding day. It's supposed to be a happy and unforgettable time because that's exactly what it is. Unforgettable. See, Lydia finds out something about her husband to be right before she's supposed to say I do.
Her fiancé, Chris, let's just say he has taste in someone that's NOT Lydia. Lydia freaks out and runs away as fast as she can from the horror she's just had to witness. Upon climbing a huge fence and breaking and entering in the next door neighbor's house, Lydia finds herself hiding out in said neighbor's bathtub. Then the unthinkable happens. While Lydia is crying her eyes out in the tub, in walks a sexy man with a huge...voice; as he yells and wonders why there's a woman in his tub.
There starts the beginning of the end. The two never stood a chance because sparks flew of the page and you just knew that being together is inevitable. I must say, I enjoyed this very much. The easy banter and no bullshit between Vaughn and Lydia was refreshing. I loved how witty the two were and it was hard not to take an immediate liking to them. I can't tell you how excited I was when I heard that Scott would be writing another series, set in the same world as Stagedive.
I loved those books hard. Especially Mal. And there may or may not be a cameo appearance from our favorite blond haired drummer... My lips are sealed. Overall, I think this a promising start to a wonderful new series. I look forward to getting to know more of the Dive Bar family. Scott has set it up to where she can play into so many storylines! Gah...I can hardly wait.
