“Warm and funny, the first book in the Bachelor Brotherhood series reads like a great Hollywood rom-com.” –iBooks Best Books of June

Never say never…Romance isn't an option for Holly Greenwood. With her wedding planner career on the line she needs to stay focused, and that means pleasing her demanding boss, not getting distracted by her mind-alteringly hot neighbor…

Ex-Marine Kevin Vandemeer craves normalcy. Instead, he has a broken-down old house in need of a match and some gasoline, a meddling family, and the uncanny ability to attract the world's craziest women. At least that last one he can fix: he and his buddies have made a pact to swear off women, and this includes his sweetly sexy new neighbor.

After one hot night that looks a whole lot like a disaster in the light of day, Kevin and Holly are about to learn that true love doesn't play by the rules…

Review-
"If you want your fairy tale , maybe you should come down from the tower instead of waiting for your prince to find you."

There was something about 'Only You' that made me feel all warm and giddy inside. I'm a romantic person but I don't enjoy reading about insta-love. I feel like this book had insta-love but the H/h spent the entirety of the book trying to fight it off. I think that was its saving grace for me. The angst. The forbidden. And of course the adoration that the hero so clearly showed for our heroine.

Holly is a wedding planner to a woman who treats her like she's scum. That may be a little excessive...Nicole actually treats Holly like she's an assistant instead of giving her credit for the wedding she's already planned and had success in. What I liked about Holly is how driven and ambitious she was. But I mostly liked how she's one of those girls whose a big stickler for rules.

You may be thinking that means she has a stick up her butt; I can assure you she doesn't though. The day she meets the sexy ex-marine, Kevin, she knows she's going to have a hard time resisting him. Who can blame her? Kevin is anything but a coward. He sees what he wants and he's going to get it. If the girl he happens to be interested didn't already work for his mother. Oh, did I mention that yet? Kevin is Nicole's son.

That obviously causes problems all on its own. I don't know what's been up with me and wedding themed books, but I just can't help myself! They're way too addicting. I would like to add that although this a standalone, there are characters from past books. Such as the ladies from 'The Wedding Pact' series. Obviously, I went and bought all those books just to somewhat stay in the world.

The books that are going to follow in this trilogy are about Kevin and his friends who form a pack, Bachelor Brotherhood, for obvious reasons. They have sworn off women! It's funny to see how Kevin totally doesn't even last all that long. Overall, I HIGHLY recommend this book. It's fun, light-hearted, and the romance is so swoony!

Release Blitz feat Review and Giveaway:
Punk 57 by Penelope Douglas!

Buy Punk 57

Amazon / Amazon UK / Amazon AUS / Nook / iBooks / Google Play / Kobo

Title: Punk 57
Genre: New Adult
Author: Penelope Douglas
Release Date: October 21, 2016

Synopsis:

From New York Times Bestselling Author, Penelope Douglas, comes the latest New Adult romance of love, hate, and everything in between...

"We were perfect together. Until we met."

Misha

I can’t help but smile at the lyrics in her letter. She misses me.

In fifth grade, my teacher set us up with pen pals from a different school. Thinking I was a girl, with a name like Misha, the other teacher paired me up with her student, Ryen. My teacher, believing Ryen was a boy like me, agreed.

It didn’t take long for us to figure out the mistake. And in no time at all, we were arguing about everything. The best take-out pizza. Android vs. iPhone. Whether or not Eminem is the greatest rapper ever…

And that was the start. For the next seven years, it was us.

Her letters are always on black paper with silver writing. Sometimes there’s one a week or three in a day, but I need them. She’s the only one who keeps me on track, talks me down, and accepts everything I am.

We only had three rules. No social media, no phone numbers, no pictures. We had a good thing going. Why ruin it?

Until I run across a photo of a girl online. Name’s Ryen, loves Gallo’s pizza, and worships her iPhone. What are the chances?

F*ck it. I need to meet her.

I just don’t expect to hate what I find.

Ryen

He hasn’t written in three months. Something’s wrong. Did he die? Get arrested? Knowing Misha, neither would be a stretch.

Without him around, I’m going crazy. I need to know someone is listening. It’s my own fault. I should’ve gotten his phone number or picture or something.

He could be gone forever.

Or right under my nose, and I wouldn’t even know it.

*Punk 57 is a stand alone New Adult romance. It is suitable for ages 18+.

My Review:

"You're not alone. It gets better. You are important, and you can't be replaced."

I can honestly say that I was held hostage by Punk 57. From the moment I started the book to the very last page, I just couldn't put my kindle down. The story was captivating, the characters were real, and the message was powerful.

I've been an avid reader of Penelope's since Bully, which has remained a favorite of mine to this day. She's an author that I can count on to deliver a solid story full of angst and drama, love and hate, and - most importantly - characters that have depth.

While the synopsis for Punk 57 had me intrigued, this story delivered so much more than I was expecting.

Ryen and Misha were magnetic and I couldn't help but gravitate toward their characters. They were, at times, cruel in the games they would play with one another. But while they pushed and pulled and punished, they were actually helping each other to heal and become better versions of themselves. And it just so happens that they had an insane amount of chemistry that couldn’t be denied.

It also delivered a nice, healthy dose of reality. I honestly never thought about how lucky I was to have gone to school in a time before social media was a thing. If we weren't liked, if something embarrassing happened at school, we were able to escape it for the day once that final bell rang. But nowadays there are camera phones and facebook and avenues that allow bullies to bully 24/7.

High School can be a nightmare. Words are one of the most powerful tools we have and they are often used to bring others down. Most of the time it's met with silence because we're too afraid to be on the receiving end. To be seen as an outsider. The struggle was portrayed beautifully in Punk 57 and I couldn't have loved the end results more.

"Speak your mind, and you give others permission to do the same."

I seriously can't recommend this book enough. Dive into it no matter the time, lose a few hours of sleep, and nurse the book hangover that you'll be left with tomorrow. I promise you, it's worth it!

“Just give me a chance,” I whispered. “Give us a chance. Please.”
“I need time to think.” She stood and moved toward the door.
I followed. “I’m saying I like you.”
She turned back to me. “I like you, too.”
I stepped closer to her. “And I told you this because…” My eyes searched her face. “I think there is something going on here. Between us. Something more than friendship.” I took another step; she backed up and leaned against the entryway. “Don’t deny it. There is. I know there is.”
In months of working together, Alex had never been this close to me, and it made me aware of the small details about her. She smelled like mint mixed with floral perfume. Her chest heaved as she gulped for air. She had a small scar above her eyebrow, and three moles in a small line on the side of her neck. A few wayward strands of dark hair had slipped from her loose ponytail, and the flicks of yellow in her green eyes beckoned.
“Don’t try to push it away,” I said. “I know you feel it, too.” My breathing grew heavier. “You wouldn’t be here tonight if you didn’t.”

Review + Giveaway- TO LOVE AND TO CHERISH (The Wedding Brlles, Vol. 3) by Lauren Layne

To Love and to Cherish
Lauren Layne
Pocket Books
October 18, 2016
9781501135170
$5.99

About To Love and to Cherish:
In To Love and to CherishUSA Today bestselling author Lauren Layne’s third steamy novel in her delightful, hotter-than-Hades new series, the Wedding Belles’ head honcho Alexis Morgan decides she’s ready to let loose. But when a certain sexy accountant volunteers himself for the job, will she risk everything she’s built in the name of lust…or possibly even love?

Alexis has spent the past eight years devoted to turning her tiny start-up into Manhattan’s premier wedding planning company. Now that her business is thriving, it’s time to turn to her much neglected personal life. Alexis approaches her relationships like she does everything else: with a plan. Definitely not part of that plan is Logan Harris, the silent partner in the Wedding Belles and the one person who’s been there for her since the very beginning. Alexis needs someone fun, and Logan is all business, all the time. But when a late night at the office ends with an unexpected kiss, Alexis begins to suspect there’s a hot-blooded man beneath the pinstripes and glasses.

Logan has wanted Alexis since the day they met, but the ambitious wedding planner has always been untouchable. Now Alexis has made it clear that she’s on the dating market—and equally obvious that he’s not in the running. But when Alexis finds herself in need of a date for her sister’s last-minute wedding in Florida, Logan knows it’s the perfect opportunity to show Alexis that there’s more to him than numbers and spreadsheets. As Florida’s sultry days turn into even hotter nights, Logan sets out to convince Alexis that the fling of a lifetime could just maybe turn into forever…

REVIEW-
First thoughts after reading are, this book didn't make feel all swoony inside despite the fact it ended happily. But for me, I didn't like Alexis. There were very good reasons for her ending up the way she did and those reasons pissed me off even more. I don't care how much time has passed or any of that, her sister is a bitch. That sounds super harsh, cause her sister is actually a good person except for one major detail that broke my heart for the heroine.

Still couldn't jump on the Alexis bandwagon. I know I'm being unreasonable when it comes to her cold hearted demeanor and the way she closes everybody off. But I didn't like the way she treated Logan. He was awesome, kind, very loyal, and had a sexy English accent. Not that that's a requirement but hey, it's hot! This dude stuck with Alexis with the hopes of being more than friends...for eight freaking years!

She never gave him the time of day though. And my thoughts on that were, get over her, she's not THAT great. Yeah she's beautiful, smart, and driven but she never had time for you. Granted, Logan probably should have said something but he was too busy waiting for the "right" moment to be with her.

Okay, rant over. Despite the things I strongly disliked about the book, I did enjoy it. Such as the business aspect and the friendships involving everyone working at Belles. Which is the main reason I went back and bought the rest of the books. The romance in the story obviously didn't do it for me but everything else worked. The author is very talented and I look forward to reading more books by her.

PRAISE FOR THE BOOKS IN THE WEDDING BELLES SERIES:

“I highly recommend For Better or Worse. The second in a series, it can be read as a standalone, but I say start with the first because it’s just as good. They’ve got the funny bickering that I love, and even as her stories have a light touch with cute flirty, they delve deep into the characters.”
—Harlequin Junkie TOP PICK Review (For Better or Worse)

“If you have yet to fall head over heels for one of Lauren Layne’s books, what are you waiting for? She has written some of the most charming and engrossing romance novels of the decade, each of which will leave you with that warm gooey feeling you usually only get after a fresh out of the oven chocolate chip cookie. For Better or Worse is an absolute delight. From the moment the story begins, Josh and Heather have that chemistry that you can always count on from a Lauren Layne book. They bicker, they taunt, and they flirt, each interaction pulling them closer and closer together until their lives are permanently altered by the other, and they aren’t even aware of it yet…Josh and Heather are a beautiful addition to the list of fictional couples that have found happily ever after in Lauren Layne’s books, and we can’t wait to see what she has in store for Alexis Morgan in To Love and to Cherish.”
—Hypable (For Better or Worse)

“This was a fun enjoyable sexy story that I refused to put down...  If you enjoy romance, fun sexy couple, friendship, family, and laugh out loud moments, then you need to be reading this series.”
—The Reading Cafe (For Better or Worse)

“This engaging tale has a light, fun style…”
Publishers Weekly (To Have and to Hold)

—Fresh Fiction (To Have and to Hold)

“There are family and friends, coworkers, people that aren’t as they seem, wedding information galore, dinners, drinks, chocolate, fear, anger, hurt, sadness, secrets, lies, deceit, tears, laughter, happiness, romance, loving and love…I look forward to reading the next two books, For Better or Worse and To Love and to Cherish
—Romance Junkies (To Have and to Hold)

“Sexually charged and emotionally intense novella…The heat between [Leah & Jason] is enough to melt steel, and the emotional connection and psychological struggles will keep readers engaged.”

Blog Tour Review ft Giveaway- THE ROW by J.R. Johansson

***
The Row
by J.R. Johansson
Genre: YA Mystery
Release Date: October 11th 2016
FSG/Macmillan

Summary from Goodreads:

A death sentence. A family torn apart. One girl’s hunt for the truth.

Seventeen-year-old Riley Beckett is no stranger to prison. Her father is a convicted serial killer on death row who has always maintained that he was falsely accused. Riley has never missed a single visit with her father. She wholeheartedly believes that he is innocent.

Then, a month before the execution date, Riley’s world is rocked when, in an attempt to help her move on, her father secretly confesses to her that he actually did carry out the murders. He takes it back almost immediately, but she cannot forget what he’s told her. Determined to uncover the truth for her own sake, she discovers something that will forever change everything she’s believed about the family she loves.

Review-
This was definitely a book that caught my interest from the blurb. I felt like it would be a hit or miss, depending on how the story went. Luckily, it was a big hit for me. 'The Row' left me with feelings of bittersweet justice. Without giving too much away, it pretty much broke my heart and brought tears to my eyes. Some might not agree that this is a book filled with emotion but it was for me. I put myself in the heroines shoes and felt everything she felt.

Riley's father is a convicted serial killer on death row. She doesn't believe that he had anything to do with the murder that put him there. So it's up to her and a mysteriously kind boy to solve who the real killer is by the time her fathers death sentence looms closer. But the more you read, the more you think that maybe the truth is much better buried. There were some great twists that kept reading until the very last page.

To keep the book more mysterious for you I won't say much else. Too much and I may give something away! I loved the plot, the characters, and how well the author made me care. She truly shocked me and once I thought I had it all figured out, I really didn't. Not at all. Books like these always leave a lasting impression on me for many reasons. But the best one is one that can evoke all the emotions out of me.

Overall, I look forward to whatever books the author writes next. I'd love to be able to get lost in another book!
